That year SPOTY was being presented by Sir Stanley Rous, top man at the FA. Just to confirm the game was run by soppy old Sod's in Blazers he referred to him live on TV as Barney McCorcoran.

I’ve mentioned this elsewhere before, but this post reminded me of a bit of a trivia fact. Can you guess what it is? Actually Dave, upon closer inspection I’ve just realsed that DT is in fact in our red and white away kit, but you can still guess. 😄 Go on, what is it?

And Dave Thomas.😄

Close Dave.
We bought him in late 1972. Can’t remember where I first found out about this, but due to the number of games he played for them prior to his transfer, and us afterwards, he became eligible for both a Division 2 winners medal and a runners-up medal for different teams in the same season.

Loftus Road 1980 video with no sound. Grab a nice mug of tea and enjoy.
Westy, plenty of views of the radio box we spoke about the other week.

Mad to think that my first season 81/82 , the ground had changed so much ,Loft and School ends both two tiered stands and grass gone ,plastic in . I would love to be able to say i stood on the original Loft , sadly just too late .

My memory is failing me a bit here, but I’m pretty sure the “home end” was up at the school end for a while. Probably when all those modifications were being carried out.

Apparently it was ,again ,just before my time . I wasnt allowed to travel to Bush until 81 , i had to make do with Selhurst Park , which was only a short bus ride from me then .
