Banned from Europe for two seasons and hit with £30m fine
If only prem/fa had balls to come down as hard on these big clubs

The European TV money loss will be a big loss though.; especially if they didn't vote to leave Europe.

Different governing bodies mate Ah didn’t realise that 👍🏻. Still makes our fine look harsh though It's uefa or FIFA that have nailed them mate The FA or prem don't have the balls to go after the bigger lot Sounds like city been cooking the books. Dodgy sponsorship deals etc

Don’t think FA can fine for FFP anyway they are not governing body of a league that’s Prem and EFL

Bit embarrassing for the Premier League all this isn't it? I was just reading an article about this and it relates to FFP breaches from understating sponsorship between 2012 and 2016. In other words they've won the league 3 times since this these indiscretions started. And worse than that, UEFA spotted it before the Premier League did.

Also if the authorities are going to sort this, all leagues and bodies need to crack down on all sides.not just a few because loads are at it.

To be fair Leighsie, its probably not that difficult to cheat the system. In Man City's case, the owners brother owns Etihad. They also have eye watering sums of money mainly held in the UAE (where at the time there were literally zero taxes, and as such not much of a paper trail). It probably would be as easy as "can you pay a few hundred million quid as sponsorship on the books in the UK and I'll buy you a new yacht in return?".

Were they not fined or penalised a few years ago by uefa which resulted in them having a reduced squad for the CL

City fans seem to think their club been hard done by 🤣 They've probably done it in a way that's hard to prove. They ain't daft these Abu Dhabi lads. And as I say, they also operate in a part of the world where hiding a paper trail historically hasn't been that hard.

Corrupt as fuck. Football is broken. Boycott the PL. I'm proud to say the last time I watched Man City was when we played them in 2015.

Not suprised at all, The fine given is less than Guardiola's yearly wage which says it all.

Just solidifies what I think most of us know about football as an industry. Crooked as hell.
We fall foul of FFP through stupidity and over exuberance from our board. We hold our hands up and the authorities throw the book at us.
Man City bend the rules and try to cover it up. They then employ some expensive lawyers, grease the right palms and get off with a slapped wrist. Let's be clear, fining them 9m quid is less of an inconvenience than a speeding fine would be to your average football fan.

Saw this coming Guardiola was so confident. Brown envelopes corrupt and puts UEFA in a difficult situation. 'FFP was never thought through and some clubs have paid a high price. Just another nail in footballs coffin, sadly.
