Plenty rated Taiwo I was bit underwhelmed Best left back we have ever had even if it was only a handful of appearances. Gillard? Wilson? Even Sansom..?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So everyone going to rate their own favs relative to their times. Example, one mans gemma Collins is another mans Beyonce

Best left back we have ever had even if it was only a handful of appearances. Gillard? Wilson? Even Sansom..? I go back as far as Jim Langley but he was the most accomplished of all of them IMO. Clive Wilson is still my favourite LB with Rufus Brevett close behind him.

Always did the business and never let us down

Always did the business and never let us down I suppose Taiwo wasn't here long enough to see how his consistency would have played a part in my opinion of him but, despite the ephemerality of his time in the hoops, I loved watching him play. I occasionally talk to Ian Gillard and his wife at games and it isn't wise to mention Rodney marsh to him, that's all I am saying.

Even Mark Dennis - another terrific player ruined by being a total cunt. I raise you both Ian Dawes :-) We've had some decent players at this club over the years - with the exception of 'that' year you could argue that probably never at the same time! 😁

I knew Dawesie quite well back then. He lived locally to me and still does. I drove with his parents to Rotherham to see his first game for us (I think it was??) and he allowed us to use his comp tickets for a couple of years. Great player as well. We had two good full backs then with Warren Neil over the other side.

Mark Kennedy. Played 8 games for us on loan in 97/98 and was by far the best player we had that year. Easily won Player of the Season but the club fixed the outcome so they'd avoid embarrassment. I still haven't gotten over the fact we never signed Mark Kennedy. What a player he was. Sadly he never really fulfilled his potential, a common story in football. He's now manager at Macclesfield Town.

Maybe they did. Late 90s.
