Shania - the most points we’ve had in a season is 60 since we got relegated last time. We’re on course if not slightly ahead of that target. Yes, we’re not mathematically safe but you’ve got to look at number of teams below us as well as number of points. I’d say we are more likely to make playoffs than get relegated. We don’t do either though. We should enjoy this season after last seasons under chump 1,2 and 3. Playing good, doing well. That is entirely true - but when we concede these idiotic goals against it`s almost like you can feel them coming, don`t you agree? Yes but this is football and this is qpr. Got to enjoy the good moments. We have and have had so many shit ones.

Eze is so shit nowadays. Why didn't he shoot? He has played every minute of every game this season and I think he is entitled to an off day. He still managed some bits of magic whilst being so shit too.

We did well against 13 men today and the ref was joint MOTM with Hogan for Birmingham. Pedersen should have been off after his third yellow card offense but i would appear that the ref forgot to bring his cards. BOS and Eze were being systematically hacked to pieces and even Pugh? got his nose bloodied by them. Not a good day for the team but a draw is creditable against a side who are now 13 without defeat. Great tackle by Masterson at he end, he had a good game. BTW; zonal marking is shit. There was a corner at the end and Barbet was directing Manning as to exactly which bit of empty space, nowhere near a Blues player, he needed to stand to defend it.

After equaliser we should have scored 2 but so Should they. Big dirty lump of a side. But we were better side. Look at our young talent on display? They were just your typical lump it to the big men side. If that’s what people enjoy then fair play. JFH and Holloway football. Not for me.

Surely this is all stuff that should be taken care of on the training pitch?

We really going back to Gino to find the last guy that could take a corner? 😂
This thread has gone a bit negative to be honest. Shouldn't be cos today was actually a good performance. Different day, rub of the green, different ref etc. Could have been a different story.
I think we've actually rallied pretty well after the transfer window. I was a bit worried when Nakhi left. I still think we are very short of proper strikers, but we'll manage a decent mid table finish.

The Chair free kick at the end would have been a real stunner if only it had been a few inches lower, maybe he is the answer to our free kick taker. Also it was Eze's free kick that led to Pugh's goal.

Few fans turned nose up at Hogan when suggested as replacement for Wells. Super little player

We’re close to being a playoff team now. We were a million miles away from that under previous mangers. And what made it more depressing before was that we told that fighting relegation was as good as we could expect. Change this season has been immense

Let's be honest, the arse end still isn't a pretty sight. I've been massively impressed by the way Palace have sorted their back end. Someone asked Cahill (who I reckon is in England form right now) how they did it. Answer: they practice holding a line and calling the drills day after day. Everyone knows their job. We've improved but I still don't think we're doing the basics. Good point but watching Palace is pretty tortuous stuff.

Frustrating game as we were good enough to have won it but again we showed fight, not just to get back into it but go ahead
No one can deny the progress we have made this season, yes we’re still flaky in some areas but in other areas we excel
Each game is like dead rubber now but there still turning up and giving it a go which bodes well for the future. We will lose Eze and or BOS end of season. Personally I would rather keep BOS but on current form think he’s the one more likely to be off
Hughill goal was great movement, attacking the front post and getting in front of his man loved that. He misses a few but if you give him right service (like big Smith) he will score goals
Frustrated but happy is how I would describe myself today

Was just making the point that I didn't mean to come across negative. Yesterday was actually pretty good in my opinion.

Manning and Eze I'm certain will be off, and I very much doubt we can afford to keep Hugill. It'll be another rebuilding job in the summer, albeit a smaller one that last year. Luckily a lot of other clubs are feeling the FFP pinch. As such, I suspect there will be lots of free transfers kicking around again in the summer. Hopefully our policy of keeping our powder dry in the January window will pay dividends and we can go again next season.

It may not be next season but the way QPR have approached this season, and hopefully more of the same next season, it may be a case that when those who have overreached and failed to get promoted have to start to follow our path and it could be a case of "in the land of the blind the one eyed man is king" (promoted). What we really need to see is some real intent by the board to improve the infrastructure as I think I can live with how the team is panning out and understand the restrictions in place WRT to spending our way to glory/ ignominy.

We're doing OK but its massively frustrating because basic coaching still does not appear to be happening.
The back line / defending set pieces / attacking set pieces.
Getting this shit sorted is not down to a lack of multi million pound talent. It's down to a lack of good old fashioned suss. It's fixable, but that still aint happening.
Those three things are the reason why we are basically stuck in mid table. Real shame no one at the club is a capable coach.

And to be fair, you'd have thought with a Director of Football and a Technical Director sitting above an experienced Manager, between them they'd be able to spot this and make the necessary adjustments?!! Frustrating, but at the same time, I've had much much worse seasons as a QPR fan!

Hughill goal and an assist yesterday
Why can't we just put simple balls like that in for all Set pieces. Ball in, knock back and players go in on it!!

What is frustrating is that from what we see on a match day they don't appear to have any set piece routines carried forward from training. It's the same pretty basic stuff, not very well executed, every time.

exactly.
We just don't do the basics.
