Ronaldo does immense amount for charities as does Messi. No comparison to that sack of shit Bill. I get all of what you say as all excellent points, The fellow looked after his parents and got them out of the slum they lived in. No angel and divides opinion but for the me the greatest ever as neither Ronaldo nor Messi would have won the world cup with that Argentina team or Serie A with Napoli.

World cup Semi v Belgium 2 brilliant goals and top drawer pass for winner in 86 World Cup Final something neither Messi or Ronaldo have come close to doing. Like him or not, one has to acknowledge genuine brilliance even through gritted teeth.

I saw the film at cinema , enjoyed it ... Messi and Ronnie are both protected on the pitch and Mara would flourish in today's football as would Pele , best and many others . I got from Mara he just loved to play . Ive let go of his cheating decades ago if lineker would have done it we would have taken it .. isn't he managing a team owned by a cartel now at least he gets free poke

Watched the Maradona film yesterday and was a great watch. Yes the man cheated but his ability and influence on 2 very average teams was not in doubt. Mafia had him by the bollocks once on the coke and was game over after. Still for me the greatest I ever saw even allowing for the scandals. just leave it at " yes the man cheated " , Really ! Really !!?? lets not leave it at " the man cheated " shall we .....? hes a a cunt ,for all his undoubted talent , hes a degenerate cheat , coming from a nation of degenerate cheats Piece of fucking shit

if it been one of ours whom had done hand of God make no mistake, the bell ends who follow England would sing about that instead of shit German bombers. You miss the point Leighs. An Englishman wouldn't have done that in the first place - it's not in their DNA, their sense of fair play. To deceive the ref in any way possible is part of the Latin footballing culture, which is why they would never refer to or define it as 'cheating', but rather the dark arts and kidology which on the contrary was lauded by their partisan fans. Unsportsmanlike (and 'ungentlemanly conduct' as we used to call it), yes absolutely. #JustNotCricket

I seem remember Owen as well winning a dodgy peno against the argies at the 2002 WC. Our lot certainly no angels.

Messi Ronaldo score brilliant goals week in week out against the likes of Ramos,Godin in what is a much faster game, well drilled defences and whole lot more. Leighsy i bet your tax return is not totally true like thousands of others. No comparison really add the longevity of Messi Ronaldo no contest.

Point being it's more of a cultural trait.

Can't beat them join them sort of mentality. Sure, and it's a real shame. Difference being the examples you mention learnt those practices over their careers, plus it would be one trick without doing it constantly; as opposed to the Latin footballing nations' mentality, where it is literally indoctrinated into them all as children, so it's completely inbred into the culture.

The England v Paraguay match in the last World Cup is a prime example. From the first minute to the last their sole intention was to cheat, whichever way they could.
