I really enjoyed Italia 90 and our run to the semi-final. The BBC's iconic Nessun Dorma theme added to the enjoyment of it all. And that quarter-final against Cameroon was a fantastic rollercoaster of match, with them going 2-1 up in the second half with the amazing 38 year-old Roger Milla pulling the strings. Lineker rescued us with two late penalties. The Belgium game was also utterly gripping, but a completely different match to the Cameroon one, and that last-minute Platt goal from a Gascoigne chipped free-kick was sublime.

1978. The free flowing football. Mario Kempes and his argentinian team was a joy to watch. 1994. Norway-Brazil 2-1. Kjetil Rekdal and Tore Andre Flo. Wow... That tournament was on the hole a joy to watch.

Brazil v England - Mexico WC 1970. Before my time but contained several iconic moments - that tackle by Moore and that save by Banks. Probably the two best sides in the world at the time, with England arguably having a better team than '66.
Tournament would have to be Euro 96 as the only one in living memory held on home soil.
Italy '82 another stand out for those great Italian and Brazilian sides.

my favourite moment in an international was canigga waltzing through the cameroon defense, only to get poll axed by the last defender.
also loved josimars goal for brazil against northern ireland.

Thanks for the correction 😅in living memory.
