Agreed, no rush at all. Nothing wrong with next season starting later. Just play the games slightly more frequently for a season. In Fairness brights I think part of the rush is we don’t know what’s coming round the corner and if there will be further lockdowns so they want this season concluded so they don’t have use average points etc and get into litigation. Finish season on its merits then there are no legal arguments I understand that mate, but that’s what I’m trying to say, albeit not very well.😂 Don’t personally see there needs to be any deadline, bearing in mind what we’ve gone through. Even to the extent that we have a shorter season next year, maybe playing each other just the once. Having said all that, moaning about it isn’t a great look, when it will affect all clubs in the same way.

I get the feeling that with very little time to prepare for contact football and no chance to get match fitness back to previous levels we are going to see some very spurious results. The OOC players are also not going to be putting themselves in harms way for these games either I would imagine. I wonder whose fans will be the first to clamour for the managers head after losing a few games?

Been reading about the start being provisional regarding further outbreaks of the Virus..will teams with a number of players showing a positive test for the Virus be able to postpone games once the season restarts..PNE have three players testing positive apparently.

Be nice to watch some football, however shite. Think the job is to get this season done ASAP and start the new one as quickly as possible in September. Play that as normally as possible, even if more frequently, so that when fans can attend we pick up quickly. Cancel the crap League Cup, even the FA Cup, and all European games. No International Breaks, so if we start the new season in September we'll play all games by May.

Wouldn't start a new season before fans are allowed back in stadiums.

Wouldn't start a new season before fans are allowed back in stadiums. I think you may be overestimating how important clubs view the fans.... As in, fans are one of the last things to be considered..

Wouldn't start a new season before fans are allowed back in stadiums. That'd be January at the earliest, Timmy. Start it and we can go when it's safe.

No reason why they shouldn't for people who've paid for a season's subscription. Indeed they'd be contractually obliged to. EFL in contact with Sky to show all games Good, West Acton.

Seems that lee hoos is making the most noise about the restart.
since when does he talk about football matters.
he keeps telling us that the dof deals with football matters while hoos only deals with the financial side of the club.
since when has his remit changed?
where is dof les?
bring on the football ffs.

How will it work for players going out of contract.... there's a story this morning that Charlton have 15 players coming to the end of their contracts and one of their players has already stated that he won't play as he doesn't want to risk injury and possibly fucking up his chance of a move. Lyle Taylor is being offered a move with 4 times the money he's getting now , can't blame him not wanting to play and get injured as he's 30 and probably at his age may not get such a good offer again I thought about this and I have changed my stance a bit on it. He is isn't being asked to play more games than his contract was for. He is still playing the 46 games that he would have done without the shutdown. Plus the games start in June and he is contracted until June, he got (I presume) paid whilst not playing already so he should be playing until his contract expires.

A tight hammy in training just before the first match would have done it.

We can't go to the Rangers until January thanks to social distancing rules, but fucktard screaming leftists can mass in Hyde Park with impunity less than one inch apart. What a joke. Boils my fucking piss.
I'm not in the politics section, so if this offends, mods, delete.

Hoos is the chosen mouthpiece. He does whatever he is told to do. He appeared to be talking about football, but those comments were motivated by financial considerations.
As previously stated, while it is in the financial interests of prem clubs to finish the season, the fact is that for almost everyone else it makes no sense whatsoever. I suspect that the Hoos comments reflect the majority of board opinions in the EFL.
Esox is correct: there will be no current form, so its going to be massively unpredictable.

I thought we were on decent form and had outside chance of playoffs before Covid. Now think, mid table. Only plus is I think we have more away games than home games, so no fans may help us....albeit only a little!

In amongst the garbled ,incoherent shit you posted, is the slightest semblance of a good point regarding the inconsistencies in 'social distancing'..... 'You should not share garden or sports equipment with people outside of your household' ..... however, footballers are going to be quite literally swapping blood, sweat and tears with shared sports equipment.

There’s an interview with Club Dr on official site who seems quite upbeat about players starting on 20th..interviewer hints that Grant Hall may not play ( baby comment ) but not confirmed in video..with Connor Masterson and Yoan Barbet as starters could this leave us a bit stretched at CB if Geoff Cameron or Dom Ball have injuries. Have we any youngsters to fill the gap at CB ?

My favourite team was the one with Seny Dieng in goal and Manning, Smyth, Dalling, Eze, Tilt, Chair all in the side. The looked a lot slicker than the first team at the time. I enjoy watching Amrit Bansal-McNulty now, along with Jake Frailing, Faisal Bettache & Nathan Carlyle in this seasons side. I was hoping that Charley Kendall would be pushing for the first team squad but there seems to be something going on with him.

BBC football are reporting Season Ticket Holders of Championship clubs will be able to watch their teams remaining games online “ it may be in lieu of a refund or part of a wider package as determined by each individual club “ None of the remaining games will be shown on free-to -Air television...individual Championship matches will cost a non-season ticket holder £10

From comments made by people who have used the clubs live streams they are very flaky so I am not expecting much. Does anyone know if any clubs have enforced Force Majeure to avoid paying back ticket monies already received? I saw that Hull are looking to charge members £10 to watch the remaining games and Sunderland have something similar.

It’s nice to hear what our own supporters opinions are on what players to look out for in the coming seasons. Seny Dieng getting plenty of attention in the media recently..he looks a confident keeper who isn’t frightened on coming out for crosses in the very limited time I seen him on tv.
