People said that about caterham f1 team, look what happened there. When it comes to sport, Bungle and chums are complete failures. he has done more damage to our club than what 10 richard thompsons ever could. i would take flavio and friends over this current mob any day of the week. No one can defend Fernandes on a sporting front and Caterham has been repeated as we are clinging on to our club by the skin of our teeth. Newly promoted PL team when he came with a budget to go with it now we have a Mars bar and a can of coke to trade with. Good first post but you seem familiar. Any relation to the previous 1973ranger?

Really feel for them. Fuck me they’ve only been there a few weeks. Makes a mockery of the fit and proper persons bullshit. Normally you’d expect someone to sail in on a white steed and save them but in the current climate? Could be curtains for them but I hope they get it sorted. Makes you wonder if a club with a low average gate, paying lowest wages in one of the cheapest parts of the country can go bust in 6 weeks just how much money are rangers haemorrhaging. If what Hoos says is true and the owners are funding it at a rate of a million quid a week we’re only one tantrum away from following suit. What we have in our favour in my opinion is amit. He’s hooked. If Tony and the other financial juggernauts pulled the plug there’s no way Amit would let it go to the wall if it was avoidable. One things for sure Wigan might be the first but sadly they won’t be the last A million a month Greg. Good points though.

Missing the point guys? LR real estate alone has more potential value than anything to do with Caterham, which was a classic vanity project.
I agree that Uncle's regime has been a colossal fuck up given the level of investment - I think was one of the first to compare his stats to Flava Flav's - but the fact remains that out stakeholders control immense wealth vs almost all other boardrooms in football. Which actually makes the pill that bit more bitter, but suggests that running the club at a sustainable loss makes more sense and looses less face than shunting it into admin.

They may well not want to lose face but at some point they will and pull the plug. Everybody has their limitations.
Out of interest who actually owns LR these day and what do you reckon the site is worth.
When the maths dont equate thats when this could well happen, just being realistic.

Why not deduct them points? Not keen on teams being deducted points because of the dubious and shady practices of their owners. If the day to day running of the club indicated that things had been getting out of control, then that’s another matter. If it has come about because of an engineered scam by some foreigners, then whack the owners with a massive fine like we got. I see mean you mean, but in the end it can very well be us going down instead - that is the problem..

If it was a choice between Wigan being deducted 12 points and QPR being relegated, which would we prefer? That's the point you're making as I understand, Shania. Seems a perfectly reasonable question too.

What have Bournemouth been up to BrightonR ?

And if that wasn’t bad enough, they’ve just taken the lead at United.😂

Looks like we might have to rely on Wigan being deducted 12 points. Lose tomorrow and we will only be 4 or 5 points off the bottom 3.

They may well not want to lose face but at some point they will and pull the plug. The may well be open to offers Bill but trust me, they wont shunt it into admin.
Its worth more to them being run at a sustainable loss. That way via Holdings they retain a property stake, and the possibility of a buyer remains open.
The real problem they have is a simple one. Next year the club could spend some money without incurring sanctions. If they want to chase a slice of big table money by having a serious go they will have to spend something. If they don't, they only have themselves to blame for the club running at a loss, albeit one they can handle.

Sheffield Wed. seem to have avoided punishment so far by having issued a counter-claim of some kind..I`m not sure what will happen to them now..

FFP has frankly been a disaster for those it supposedly set out to protect. The gap between haves and have nots keeps getting wider, and there are massive inconsistencies in its application.

I guess the point is, why aren't we looking at their youngsters?
Though someone else in another thread seems to not give the club credit for young players that have played for another club before coming to us.

I guess there are a lot of angry people on here that are frustrated that the club has stagnated for the past 4 or 5 years..so can understand the frustration and misinformation that’s written sometimes.

I think your right, but I also think stagnate was the least worst option. Given the state we have got into, handing out long term lucrative contracts to over the hill players, we really could have dropped further down. The fact we have stabilized to an extent, moved on from FFP, and are comfortably mid table (eventually), is probably the best we could have hoped for. Anything else would have been a large bonus.

Think the preferred bidder to take over Wigan was supposed to deposit a £100k bond today..it’s seems unclear to Wigan fans who the new owners actually are as nothing has been disclosed but apparently it was agreed at 12.30pm today..
One of their highly regarded youngsters Jenson Weir was transferred to Brighton today for an undisclosed fee...if our interest in Kieffer Moore is true surely nothing preventing the deal going through soon as again it was mentioned they need £6m by end of month.

Even though I like the idea of Kieffer Moore at £2m coming here I would prefer if Wigan overturn the decision of EFL to deduct them 12 points and Moore agree to stay with them.
It was an incredible achievement by the players and staff at Wigan to get so far up the table despite their Owners/EFL incompetence.
