Is he really all that? Was the next big ting in English manager's but now only linked with the job centre. Is he a gem just in a rough patch,or was he overhyped and been found out as limited?

The whole Bournemouth story is a myth and built of sand
I don’t think he’s awful manager but he’s not half as good as media made out. He was young, English and playing nice football so the love in began
When they drop will be interesting to see what they do pull the trigger or say remain

Built on sand Westy? Look at where they were and where they are now and I would say he is a very good manager as he showed in the season they won the champuonship. The one thing that has killed them is their recruitment which has been hit and miss but more miss recently.

To be honest, I don’t know the ins and the outs of what’s gone on there but Howe got them promoted from league 1 to championship, then 2 years later promoted to premiere league and this is their 5th straight year. And it’s bloody Bournemouth! Sounds bloody good to me.

All that's happened is the Bournemouth relationship has gone stale.

Agree Hal, Really think he is a good manager who handled the pressure of keeping a club with a 9 or 10k stadium in the PL. He has made one or two ricks with players but overall for me is decent. As you said better than some of the clowns we have ended up with.

From what I can remember the only other club he's managed was Burnley, after his first stint as Bournemouth boss, and he completely flopped.

he's a very good manager imo who has had bournemouth punching well above their weight since they won promotion from league 1.
he's experienced the same problem lots of teams do and thats that his core players have all gotten old or left. players like steve cook, marc pugh and adam smith etc among others are all past it. teams like bournemouth don't just replace them.
look at chelsea for example without drogba, terry, lampard and cech. they've not been the same since they left but the difference is they can throw hundreds of millions to find short term fixes, bournemouth can't and the players they do sign have been shit

Where he's struggled is bedding in genuine Premiership quality players I think.
Howe did a great job of building a squad of players in the Championship and getting them to play football that was better than the sum of their parts. What he hasn't been able to to do is transition to more of a genuine Premiership squad. Every experienced or up and coming top flight player who has gone there hasn't settled. Maybe he struggles to gain the respect of genuine top flight players?

We will find out in matter of weeks what he’s really made of when there back in championship. They massively overspent and we’re bankrolled for promotion to prem so it’s an achievement but not the plucky small club beat all the odds promotion like it’s sold
I Always thought he would have been good fit for Arsenal

Think he's done great ,remember going their when they best us 2-1 think traore scored for us . Thought they played good football that day . Signings like solanke don't help. But thought they played well against spurs y'day ...plenty of fight in them

They've wasted serious amounts of cash on likes of Ibe, Solanke and a few others. Howe seems work best with journeymen, workmanlike old pros so maybe going away from that in transfer strategy has seen a gradual decline.

His big money buys Ake aside just have not delivered even Begovic was a dud after joining them. Rate Howe and in some ways Wilder at Sheff Utd is doing the same as Eddie was 4 or 5 years ago doing very well with mostly ordinary players.

Wilder in different league to Howe I rate him highly too but he’s done it right way. Wilder I think could work higher but he won’t as not fashionable bit like Dyce Proper managers
Would love someone like him in charge of England

No Westy he is not, Right now he is sailing aling fine in their first season back in the premier league. Howe did exactly the same thing when Bournemouth came up initially. Yes they have struggled these past 2 seasons but the job should be looked out over the 7 or 8 years he has been back there. Clearly you do not like or rate him but to try to understate his success does not hold up. Wilder has done well but will McGoldrick and Sharp be doing as well in 2 seasons time? The recruitment is crucial and that along with ageing stalwarts is costing Howe and Bournemouth right now.

He's done a brilliant job. Always difficult for a club like Bournemouth! to sign proper Premier League standard players. Five seasons there is four years more what everyone expected. Amazing job imo.

Amazing job and agree 1 maybe 2 seasons in the PL would have been deemed a good job done. I look at the job he has done for the duration of his reign and based on that he has done a fantastic job in keeping them up for 5 seasons.

You can understand why they want to sue for the goal against Villa. Think Howe will step down as looked like this season has totally drained him.

Yes heard they wanted sue. I kind of get why but they should be told do one. What about all wrong var decisions for pens where does it stop I’m sure they had decisions going there way during season.
