It does not matter what centre half you bring in the manager does not worry about coaching defenders there fore a solid experienced keeper is a must or we run the risk of ruining a keeper with potential. Just as an interesting mental exercise, try playing Steel Man over Warburton's footballing philosophy. Not just you 73, but anyone reading this who fancies the challenge. It's obviously more of a challenge for those that don't agree with it, but nonetheless an interesting exercise.

We need to pay all the Eze/BOS/Manning money for a 30 goal a season striker. Defenders? Who needs 'em?

Ok, let's give this a try:
I get the impression he is a footballing purist. His oft quoted mantra "We attack as a team, we defend as a team" suggests to me that he does not believe in the compartmentalisation approach to coaching methods - hence no need to employ a dedicated defensive coach. His footballing brand is more of a fluid one, hence his zonal marking system for example. Less extreme than 'total football' but along similar lines. It's why you notice he's usually not keen on the over-emphasis placed on team formations, and more about keeping possession, making runs, 2 or 3 touch football, passing triangles, and a lot of covering for team mates running out of position. In his early interviews just after he joined the club, he said he attended most of the games in our great 75/76 season and was particularly inspired by that team and sees that approach and style as part of the great QPR tradition.

Wtf is steel man? ?? It's where you present in good faith as convincing as possible an argument or case for someone that you yourself don't necessarily agree with. (It's the opposite of a straw man argument).

You Two make a good double act. Factamondo used to do this with him all the time, back in the day. There was only one Facto, but it's at least an attempt to revive those fun times lol.
