Bit pissed off with hall if I’m honest. We’ve looked after him when he really needed it. The ammount of games he’s missed through injuries is ridiculous. We need to improve the defence anyway but I felt like he owed us a bit. Modern day footballers, all ponces

If Spurs Offered 20 million for Eze and Bos would you take it in the current club state bearing in mind we are very broke I think i would if they are both going even though it should be nearer 25 million ish Pay the rest of the farking fine off and start again, 15 million for the fine and give Warbs million to re invest on players Why pay the fine off? It has no bearings on ffp and is being covered by the owners. Would be senseless to waste any money from sales on that

Might be thinking being free agent = big signing on fee Be interesting to see where he ends up I’m not sure he will be in massive demand

That was part of the settlement agreement. The loans from Ruben to keep the club afloat are also turned into equity so there is no debt against QPR.

He probs has club lined up. What level club do you think he will get? Don’t think many championship teams could afford Halls wages. Hall is solid enough player to be a squad player at Palace or newly promoted team in my opinion.

We need to improve the defence anyway but I felt like he owed us a bit. Modern day footballers, all ponces The injury that plagued him was a diagnosis of acute tendonitis when he was playing for QPR. The club have a duty of care towards their contracted players and you can't hold Hall responsible for the time it took to recover from it; it was the same injury that forced Owen Hargreaves and Laurent Koscielny to retire earlier than they would have expected. He is 28 and the club had just offered him a new contract for half the money he was getting and with a new baby in the family it probably wan't that hard a decision to make. I don't get all this abuse some of our decent players get when they decide to leave the club. It's not like he didn't give it 100% when he was on the pitch and chipped in with a few goals this season too. I bet you wouldn't call him a ponce to his face either. www.football.london/queens-park-rangers-fc/grant-hall-discusses-injury-hell-15652067

Is that gospel Esox? 50% of his previous deal?

Is that gospel Esox? 50% of his previous deal? Yes, it was on Clive's site earlier. A link to an article about it I think. With Nahki, Hugill and Cameron, when he was on loan costing the club approx £20k p.w. each I would have to hazard a guess that Hall was £12-15k p.w. which would have made him one of the highest contracted players. This is merely to give some substance to my guess. "the average wage for the best-paid players at Championship clubs is a staggering £29,000 a week - with the league's highest-earner pocketing £68,000 every seven days – while League One's top players are paid an average of 'just' £4,753 a week.30 Apr 2020" *Edit, I just went back and looked at the thread again and the actual post from Sean Gallagher is "Grant Hall would need to take a considerable pay cut in order for a new deal (beyond end of the 19/20 season) to be agreed. One of the club’s highest earners and captain too. He’s 28 and just had a kid. Needs to maximise his earnings, where possible #QPR". Apologies, I am not sure where I got the 50% from, maybe a comment in one of the threads I have been reading.

Bosman rule destroys clubs with no money , that’s why some clubs don’t have academy’s nowadays. Players have too much power because of this and more importantly why so many clubs may go bust soon. It would be more acceptable if clubs were guaranteed a set fee from a Bosman free transfer.

It would be more acceptable if clubs were guaranteed a set fee from a Bosman free transfer. I would dispute that they are getting turned over when a player leaves on a free; it is similar to if you take on a three year contract to paint the leaves on all the Chestnut trees in Hyde Park for an agreed amount. After three years the club ask you to sign up for another three years and you have the choice to say yes or no. Neither of you are being screwed over if you decide to either sign on again or leave. If during your three year term you had the misfortune to fall out of that tree then, as long as you had followed the H&S rules required by the job you would be entitled to medical care and sick pay without prejudice. To your second point about receiving a set fee from a Bosman; who would be responsible for the fee? A player has fulfilled his contract, left and if he hasn't retired, has joined another club and has no obligation to his previous club. IMO Bosman isn't as much of a problem as high salaries negotiated by agents but even that could be argued for as it is the players that are attracting the huge money from television rights so they should get the lions share of the money. No-one goes to a game to applaud and admire the boards financial acumen, they go to see the players of their team.

Contracts work both ways. Player can run it down refuse new one or honour it. Club can do the same, and break it by selling. No loyalty on either side.

I’m still trying to get my head round how a leaf painter could earn £68k a week in the championship.🤪
Club that takes out of contract player should pay if deemed said player is taking a step up in career of one years salary of players previous contract.
Lets just use Grant Hall as a made up example instead of a leaf painter. Goes to palace next week in prem. palace get good squad player and pay us roughly £1m in compensation ?

Barbet Masterson is probably our first choice pairing anyway so he is an expensive 3rd choice. Not sure what youth we have coming through but we have Cameron and Wallace who can fill in, as well as Ball if needed.

I expected Hall to sign a new contract with us but it seems he probably got a deal on table already.

Ditto Jason Puncheon and Danny Simpson Funny enough Stanley some supporters really rated Danny Simpson but I always thought he flattered to deceive..got down the line into good positions then turned back and took the easy way out and passed backwards. Its being in the right place at the right time what determines how successful some average players are.

If we are lucky it may clear up quicker than expected and he at least gets a spot on the bench. The other young CB is Themis Kefalas but he is still listed in the U23 squad after being brought up early from the U18's this season but has only had National league experience with Billericay under his belt albeit he was highly rated and scored a goal for them. The other option may be Osman Kakay who is back with us again.
