Brighton are a side who fight relegation in the top flight, in a decent ground exactly the same as Newcastle. They are not a huge side either although they are ahead of the relegation curve this season
I standby by my view that magpie fans are deluded and have expected way more then there club could ever deliver although new found money might change that going forwards. But like city and Chelsea any success now is not organic or hard earned, not that it will bother their fans
When the money arrived there were suggestions of Mbappe going there but today Chris woods from Burnley is having a medical your honour the case rests

Not a geordie but some of the NUFC comments on this thread need addressing.
Newcastle are a huge club, way bigger than Brighton or WHU or whoever, good gate receipts even when they've been dire.
Their problem is not that they haven't won anything. but that they won it all too long ago (champions four times, FA cup x 6 when it really meant something),
That legacy laid a huge weight of expectation which proved impossible to live up to and fucked them up. Current owners need to build steadily, not panic, and see where it takes them.

Grew up near Palace, so always have a soft spot for them and Charlton.
Used to get to a lot of their games as a very young kid until I found QPR age 11.
Great initiative by Palace though.

I wasn't far from Palace when I was younger either and would probably have supported them if my elder brother hadn't got there first but I went QPR as I couldn't support the same team could I?
I remember playing subbuteo against him and he had a striker with a moustache painted on to represent Don Rogers, his favourite player. He was gutted when he promptly signed for the Rs.
