what a bizarre move I keep reading Sullivan and gold linked to brum but you can’t own two clubs and can’t see them selling hammers so they can run club they already owned and were hated at

There’s a 50 page thread on KUMB on brum being bought by Sullivan and Gould. Most brum fans would welcome them back too according to their forum.

Call it what you like Al, Ben Ryan is a rugby coach. A bloody good one. What's he doing as a Director at a Premier League football club?

He's apparently a Brentford fan too Al. Doesn't mean he'll be any good in football though, does it?
Remember Clive Woodward's ill fated stint at Southampton?

If this guy is producing elite athletes (fit blokes) that’s the same either sport…? I think Woodward was Sporting Director or DoF at Southampton. Fair enough Ben Ryan is going to be responsible for the fitness of the players. Rugby fitness and nutrition is totally different to football though. It all just seems a bit gimmicky to me. Bet he doesn't last much more than a season.

If they Think they can gain an edge over others from this guys knowledge from another sport we’re the fine percentages are the difference between winning or losing then why not. I’m sure there is plenty which could improve football from other sports and business if clubs wanted to explore

Westy, the difference is rugby nutrition and fitness has a lot more to do with size, strength and burst of explosive exertion as opposed to the sort of anaerobic fitness required for football.
I've also go it on pretty good authority that rugby is dirty as hell and most players are juicing.
I don't doubt Ryan has studied hard and knows enough to be successful in sports other than Rugby Union and Rugby Sevens. I just don't see this move straight into the highest tier of English football being a success.

Like them or hate them brentford got more right then wrong in recent times
When they ditched reserves team people said wtf when they introduced there stats based system for signings again people thought that’s odd now everyone is replicating.
If your an expert in your field you should be able to adapt to most environments

If your an expert in your field you should be able to adapt to most environments pretty much this. i can't stand brentford but they're the best run club in the country and get it right far far more than not. if they're bringing someone in from a different sport then its because they've done their due diligence on him and interviewed him extensively for the role

Like them or hate them brentford got more right then wrong in recent times yes they have, sadly. Started doing a lot of things we're just embarking on years ago. As did Fulham FFS. Oh well, better late than never.

phenomenal work rate from him Rich man's Conor Washington. so true. one of the worst prem regular's i've ever seen. according to wiki he's scored 56 prem goals in 344 games over a 15! year long prem career, or a goal roughly every 7 games, OR 3 goals a season. as a striker. god awful player.
