Chair is out of his depth, great little player but as mentioned pre season my worry was we were going to rely on him week in week out to perform like Eze and he’s just not up to it!
Carroll as a winger doesn’t work as well but positive are dickie, Dieng, Kakay and Bonne coming on to make a difference.
MW needs to sort his tactics out ASAP as we are assembling a decent little team but he’s got to play the right players in the correct positions.
I agree with some posters that it would be great to see two up top but we aren’t going mad on wingers to have them sit on the bench.
After the break I’d love to see something like the below -
Dieng
Kakay dickie barbet New lb
Ball Cameron
Bonne Adomah BOS
Dykes

Having intense browser issues which wont let me multiquote but in reply to Maids, who was spot on re his selection shortcomings:-
He's hopeless tactically and slow possession 4-2-3-1 wont get us anywhere.
Our transistions are still too slow.
Given the squad and our defensive limitations I'd set them up as a 4-3-3
with the back three holding. That means playing longer ball to turn oppo, (Liverpool do it vs high line ), but its soooo much faster. Vs bus parkers you just move the back three up.
What we don't have is tactical flexibility, for me he doesn't really read the game in any meaningful sense.

Happy for Bonne though. Misleading stat. Cameron was incredibly unlucky not to score from that corner where we hit the post and ball rolled across the line. Could and should have gone 1-0 up. |

Could and should have gone 1-0 up. Agreed, we should have been 1-0 up at halftime. We could easily have lost that second half by a couple of goals mind, with all the mistakes Barbet made. All in all, I think a point was fair enough. Dieng, Kakay, Dickie, BOS all had very solid games. Great goal by Bonne and brilliant pass from Yoann to almost redeem himself. Would have been nice with a win, but th next best thing was to nick the point right at the death. Almost felt like a win. U R´s |
