All four teams we’ve played so far look bang average to me!
The frustrating thing is the last three games we could easily have had nine points instead of two. There was really nothing in those games and a little luck results could so easily have gone our way.

Is football any where that good any more? So many stupid rules, players rolling about like they on fire for a hangnail.unfair un level playing field due to finance, and as I'm in my twilight years I've seen sooooo much b4 it looses' its sparkle.

If we start putting the ball in the net we will move up table at rapid pace
Seem solid at the back but not so potent up top which is opposite of last season

Annoying thing is that we have the potential to be above average in this division but first you have to pick em in the right places.....

Preston are a horrible shitty little side, but are exceptionally well coached and drilled. They play to their strengths and know their limitations. They forced those pens on us tonight, knowing where we are weak. They're also past masters at time wasting and the dark arts. In that regard they're probably the best side we've played so far this season.
However my OP still basically stands. 6 teams played, 6 bang average sides, so far...

What do you think other sides are going away and saying about us after facing us?? I guess exactly the same thing. We are one of the bang average sides in this league. Unsure why people think with our squad we should be right up there
Performances have lacked levels of entertainment compared to last season. If we took our chances we would be winning ugly instead we’re picking up draws

Unsure why people think with our squad we should be right up there Doubt they think we should be 'right up there'. Expectations are fairly realistic on the whole. However we should have zero to fear from any of the 7 teams we've played so far. What other sides think about us should not be our concern. If we took our chances we would be winning ugly Yeah, that's been the story so far. Last season it was "If we'd defended better we'd have made the play-offs."

Something along these lines you mean?: So Mark, how do you rate our next opponent, (insert random championship team)?: "They´re a very good squad with physical, quality players, very well organised and they will pose a real threat on the counter. We have to be resilient in our own box, take our chances, and be ruthless in front of their goal."

The league is bang average this year and that’s why I’m so disappointed with our start.
It hasn’t been the hardest fixture list we could of had and our points return is poor, continuing on from the end of last season.
Our squad is good enough imo to be finishing mid table in this league if MW picks the right team and shows some adaptability in terms of tactics.
Right now we haven’t played the higher quality team bar Bournemouth which happens to be one of our best performances.
A more shrewd manager imo would of got another 3-6 maybe even 7 points by now.

Unsure why people think with our squad we should be right up there Performances have lacked levels of entertainment compared to last season. If we took our chances we would be winning ugly instead we’re picking up draws Our team this year lacks the creative spark who Eze at times gave us almost entirely with his presence when he was around. Another point worth mentioning is the fact that Wells and Hugill were established top forwards in this division. They are not here this season, but we have bought and replaced them with Dykes, who is giving his all for Scotland(running him into the ground for them infact, could be a problem) and Bonne, somewhat unproven, and still a player we need to develop and shoehorn into a new style of play, is obviously not up to the standard required in this division just yet and it`s also worth mentioning that other newcomers such as Adomah and Willock came to us with next to none matches for their former clubs this season. As a result of this, I would in fact say that at this stage none of them seem to have more energy than playing cameos of 30 minutes each. That`s a problem when Amos now all of sudden has left us for this season at least. If you sums this up with the energetic BOS who seems to blow a bit hot and cold after his flirt with other clubs and acknowledge Chair as a much talented player, but not the finished article just yet most of the time runs and turns away from clear cut chances, it should be plain for all to see that yes we are a work in progress for another season or two regardless of the quality of this division. Pheewww...and breath.....Where are the paragraphs when you need them....

MW continually says like it’s a tight league with fine margins separating all the sides..can’t just throw youngsters in...according to MW every team is well coached and well prepared...he basically says the same things about every team we play. Nobody has blown us out the water in any games and we have not played particularly well in any games so far. Do you see things in a different light to most that have contributed on this thread ?

Pretty average from what I've seen.
Odd results happening up and down the leagues though. I think playing in empty stadiums has added another variable to the game.
Some teams have handled it better than others.

6 teams played, 6 bang average sides, so far... Make that 7 now. How dull are Birmingham. 9 now and still all much of a muchness. We've not really been outplayed by anyone yet, other than the collapse at Barnsley when going down to 10 men, which I can't have seen happening otherwise. 9 teams played and you're struggling to single out the best from any of them.

Would have to agree Stan Blackburn looked a decent team against us.
Maybe we could have been better if MW hadn’t decided to play 3 full backs in the second half though.
