Cutting our nose off despite our face? Bearing in mind what I said above, I think we would suffer equally by having one of our better players not playing because of spite!?! It's not spite Awin. As said before, it's just business - it is using the only leverage available to clubs when placed in such a situation. It is leverage in that it would increase the chances of him reconsidering a deal with us. It is also leverage as it's sends a message to other clubs that if they genuinely want him, then the player is for sale and we are happy to consider offers. just shut up and let us condemn him as a pariah and hate him

I’m not sure threatening a player will ever bring out the best in him in the long term. You see I wouldn't regard that in any way as 'threatening', Awin. It's just business. It's explaining to the player from a business perspective that it's best if he's not playing or around the squad because he's not happy at the club and is looking for a transfer. And it's vital from a team spirit and morale that everyone in the squad needs to be 100% committed to the cause. Explain it that way to the player and he should understand it from the club's perspective.

obvious though aint it but whether bos is smart enough to see it that way remains to be seen. he is a good player at this level and with the right development could be a premier league player one day. right now though he's no where near ready for the prem and i doubt any other team in this league would be able to develop him as we would

I would rather we got BOS to stay and sign a new contract to safeguard our investment..he’s probably our best outlet for producing chances for our striker if MW can get him fired up and motivated. If he stayed it would be one less signing that MW would have to make a sound judgement on.

I don't really care what he does or doesn't want, I just want QPR to benefit big financially from him.

I’m not sure mate. If he signs up I guess the price of doing that will be a release clause below what he may be worth

If he signs up I guess the price of doing that will be a release clause below what he may be worth I suspect this too. He's only signing if he can get a significant pay increase and assurances we won't stand in his way if a bigger club comes knocking. Unfortunately the player is holding all the cards with only 9 months left on his contract.

Which, if true, again suggests that he is not fully committed to QPR, which means he should be treated the same way as Manning and be left out of the side. You can't have it both ways. Again, this has now become the only leverage clubs have in such situations.

However if it ties him down longer stan which means we get something instead of nothing then to some extent everyone wins

Will Bright now sign contract or has he been stringing us along, playing for time to sign a pre contract with Celtic or Rangers in January as rumoured. Guess we should know soon.

Was told he would sign if not sold and truth is no one came in with a bid!
I think he will sign but there will be an agreed release clause in the contract.

Think that’s the way we should approach this. Put in a release clause of say 10 million quid. Player wins, club wins. Would keep all parties happy. He goes we reinvest half back into the squad and bank half.

Any clause prolly be minimal fee, i.e £2-3m, which I suppose be better than nothing. He holds all the cards so any large fee as release clause is unlikely.

Very very much doubt Bright would sign a contract with a £10m release clause 🤣 he'd be silly too, no one's gonna come in with £10m for him.

Set the release clause at what Brugges agreed to pay?

Should be an easy discussion as the agent should be able to find a buyer for him for that price which means he gets his move, the agent trousers a few quid and we get the money that we accepted in the first place
