We seem obsessed with keepers lumley gone and kelly certainly set to leave so we defo need a new half decent backup keeper. barnes doesn't look that good and walsh is too young atm. AFCON is next year as tarbs said so we need someone reliable to cover for seny. archer is a pretty good keeper at this level. he got millwall's POTY a few years back irc |

Walsh will be heading out on a season long loan and Kelly wants regular first team football. Ad Corbs says, unless we fancy Dillon Barnes in goal for the duration of the African Cup of Nations we need to sign a keeper.

Christ, some really howlers in that vid. I didn't think he looked that bad in the few games I've seen him play.
I think there is probably an argument to just loan Walsh out for the first half of the season and them call him back for Cover during African Cup of Nations.

Christ, some really howlers in that vid. I didn't think he looked that bad in the few games I've seen him play. I think there is probably an argument to just loan Walsh out for the first half of the season and them call him back for Cover during African Cup of Nations. archer had 18 clean sheets a few years back too and like you i always thought he looks pretty good. as a backup we could do a lot worse imo. |

It's easy to compile a clip of howlers on most keepers - and in fact, defenders were at fault for quite a few of the goals in that compilation.
I imagine someone could just as easily put together a video of some really great saves he's made and we'd all be thinking what a brilliant keeper we've signed.
So let's give the guy a break and see how he does.

To be fair, we have one of the best goalkeepers in the division in Dieng and and England U21 keeper in Joe Walsh. Anyone coming in probably realises it's a bit part role. Have to be realistic about the sort of calibre we can attract. |
