Never knew this about our potential new signing - Cox began his career with Brighton & Hove Albion, undergoing heart surgery which nearly ended his career.

Ok Stan, what I meant was if QPR sign the two wingbacks they’ve mentioned, I just think it’s a missed opportunity to add a bit more physicality to the team. The two wingbacks mentioned are 5ft 7 and 5ft 10 I’d be hoping to add a couple of 6’ to give to team more physicality at set pieces both defensively and attacking

That role is much more about being able to cover ground. The best wing backs are often small for defensively minded players.

No they don’t need to be, but I think it would be an opportunity to add a bit of height / strength to the backline. Make the team “meaner” at the back. Caveat- assuming they have the desired footballing ability

Caveat- assuming they have the desired footballing ability we play with 3 at the back though and they're all fairly tall. plus dykes and field are tall too so can help deal with set pieces. i can't really think of many modern wingbacks who are tall tbh

All I’m saying is there’s nothing wrong in being a “physically intimidating” team. If it’s possible to find a couple of tall wing-backs with the pace, stamina, footballing ability then why not “double down” and make the team a more physically daunting prospect as well as a good “football” playing team.

For a wing back, height is the least important thing. Plus, he could be a nasty bastard and add physicality that way rather than with height.

So who’s going? Stands to reason it won’t be all incoming. Who have we got that’s worth decent money and others might want? Dickie, Dieng and Chair? Looking at the signings we could lose Chair.

I saw Ball mentioned as a player leaving us. He wants more minutes on the peach, But I agree Chair out and Dozell/Willock replacing him (Chair)looks quite likely to happen.

We seriously cannot afford to lose either of these if we have any real ambition of a play-offs push next season. Chair is a different story.

I meant ‘could’ as in ‘might’ not that we should sell him. I just think it’s likely we will.

I don't think any need to mate. FFP is relaxed isn't it? There are a few that want to go. Kelly is on his way back to Scotland in order to play 1st team football. Chair may also go if the right offer is made, but we don't need to sell. I'm sure Kane is off too, and good riddance to that cunt. Doubt Dieng or Dickie will be going anywhere though! Not likely we are spending any huge fees either. We can spend 5 or 6 million without it being a concern.

Dont think we will lose any of our players of note actually think the opposite and we will strengthen If so that’s great and means we’ll be giving it a go next season, as opposed to being a club looking to develop players to sell for profit - which everyone thought was the right way to go too.

Not one or t'other but a healthy combination of the two, would be my reading of the situation Alan.

I’ve not believed it’s a one way plan you might have viewed it otherwise

highlights of george cox. even though the dutch league isn't renowned for its defending i must say that cox looks quality. pacey, works hard and gets forward. wicked shot on him too.
if we can get this one over the line then it could turn out to be an excellent signing!

That's changed.

I don't see how it can be policed when virtually every club in the country is struggling to balance the books during the pandemic.

Not saying he isn`t coming to us, but assume Fulham will keep SJ, who would be an alternative option in that role? Early rumours said Alex Mowatt could have been a target seems to have cooled a bit..
