Hugill is a decent Championship player, nothing more than that. I very much doubt there is a Championship team that is going to drop 10m quid on a striker this summer, and even if there is, I reckon they'll find a better player with better re-sale value than Hugill for their money. With this in mind, they are very unlikely to recoup their 10m quid outlay. Hi salary is a quandary too, it's something like 40 grand a week apparently if I remember correctly. Who's gonna take the hit on that? And even if he is prepared to take a cut (or West Ham are prepared to pay him off), are we even gonna be prepared to pay him 50% of what he was on? I mean that would be significantly higher than anyone else in the squad. With the above in mind, I'm dubious as to whether Hugill is really genuine possibility of a permanent deal. |
