Was gonna say exactly the same. Hugill is a decent Championship player, nothing more than that. I very much doubt there is a Championship team that is going to drop 10m quid on a striker this summer, and even if there is, I reckon they'll find a better player with better re-sale value than Hugill for their money. With this in mind, they are very unlikely to recoup their 10m quid outlay. Hi salary is a quandary too, it's something like 40 grand a week apparently if I remember correctly. Who's gonna take the hit on that? And even if he is prepared to take a cut (or West Ham are prepared to pay him off), are we even gonna be prepared to pay him 50% of what he was on? I mean that would be significantly higher than anyone else in the squad. With the above in mind, I'm dubious as to whether Hugill is really genuine possibility of a permanent deal. I didn't know he was on 40k, thought it was half that 😐 That's us out of that race then, we'd pay a quarter of that and there's no way he's gonna drop that much. As I understood it, we are currently paying 20k a week for him which equates to around 50% of his salary. West Ham are still paying the rest. Perhaps we could negotiate into the Eze deal another year on the same terms, but I'd think it's unlikely we sign him on a permanent deal this transfer window.

I suppose another season loan could work, at least we'd know if this 15-goal season was a one off for him.

Good luck to him wherever he goes but for his sake let's hope he doesn't join a sinking ship like Palace.

As far as I know Eze has a contract until 2021 with another year to be activated If club wish to.
It’s said that a selling club could be seen to get maximum transfer value when player has 2years left on contract.
Will Eze become a more valuable asset if he stays and performs better next season or will his overall performances be similar to this year and we get less..
I would prefer to sell in next window if offer is acceptable to club.

25 start price 30 plus realistic add ons. If all these clubs are actively saying what a talent, they need to put up. If he as good as they say,he be worth double few years. So if u want him,pay up or shut up.

Got to be looking at Minimum of £20 mil with good add ons to. Maddison went from Norwich to Leicester for £25 mil,I know it was before all this covid malarkey, but Eze's stats this season are better than what Maddison's was in that season he was sold. Club needs to play hard ball big time, gone are the days we give our players away.

Actually think the club deserves a bit of credit for the financial job they’ve done after Tony’s reckless behaviour. Who’d have thought 2/3 years ago we’d be able to turn down 16 million quid. He’s obviously well valued in the market too and hopefully this is now a turning point that buying clubs can’t just take the piss anymore. He’s going, we can’t change that but at least it looks like we will actually get a decent price
