At present our squad has no strength in depth and no experience in it with four weeks till our first match Still not getting the vibe of excitement this year atm that we can challenge for anything I’m afraid even top 10 Really sorry folks just not getting it am I the only one on here feeling we have a very in experienced squad I’m sure the coach is very good but you can only polish so many turds in one go We are currently much weaker as a squad than last year sorry to break the happy vibe but nowhere near last year atm in my opinion My expectations very modest for this season anyway. We went for it - relative to budget - and it fell apart late on last season. There probably isn't much in the kitty, plus we have a manager with zero experience. Strikers are always the hardest and most expensive to get. Imagine we are in for a "Young Mr Grace" style striker at the end of his career on a one year deal - like a Long - who will also be tarting for other offers, and a young loan who we will only get quite close to the season starting. If you don't have a pot you can't expect to get decent strikers this far out. Bar last year we have long been like the desperate husband rushing down Oxford St to buy the wife cheap bottle of scent five mins before the shops close on Christmas Eve. Joys of being a QPR fan.

still 58 days left. people will be in and out. not even an issue imo, its like worrying that you don't have any swimming shorts when your holiday is 2 months away True, but only 25 days until the season starts.

Wall think Danny Mac going no where

Wall think Danny Mac going no where 12 months left on his deal mate. He will go unless they put a contract in front of him that competes with what we'll pay him. Club like Millwall will take a fee rather than let a player run a contract down.

Is that what we offered for McNamara?

Is that what we offered for McNamara? apparently so which imo is a derogatory offer to make. mcnamara is a class player and up there as one of the league's best RBs too. i get that he only has a year left on his deal but he's also a diehard millwall fan who probably wants to stay where he is, i'd love him here but i can't see us getting him tbh. should have gone all out for ryan nyambe of blackburn as he's a free agent but will now probably be joining middlesbrough.

I guess this is based on what Hoos was saying that the market for Championship players has collapsed post-covid. You either sell to a Prem or parachute club in which case you sell for many millions, or they go to another mid-table or below Championship club and its basically free transfers. Clearly there is next to zero transfer budget unless we sell and that probably applies to a lot of other Championship sides too. I saw some fan on Twitter ask how much of the Eze money is left and I just laughed: I mean, we are losing 2m a month, that probably just went to pay debt ages ago.

Yes probably Tarbie, I looked him up before posting and it seems he does bits for Sportsmole.
Being honest I think Seny is more important to us than Willock or Chair this season, it would be interesting to see what MB could do with £10 or £15m?

If Seny went, I would get Smithies back on a free.

Not sure Smithies face fits with the way a Manager like Beale wants to play. I'd imagine his preference is for a goalie that can use his feet a bit.

Gotta to pull out all the stops and find a way to sort out the loan wedge. Exactly what we need.

I would guess the RB is Marlon Fossey from Fulham, speed merchant but appears injury prone.

It’s just an educated guess Tarbie, the player has reportedly had offers from a few Championship clubs and a few days ago made a point of saying he was ‘not’ going to join Rotherham.

That’s a long Taxi ride from Brighton Stan ? He gets jobs the length and breadth of the country these days, Sparks. Recently he had a round trip all the way to Cowdenbeath and Livingstone (not to drop Lynden off alas...)
