QPR’s Furlong prefers right-back role By West London Sport 21/04/2019 QPR defender Darnell Furlong has insisted he prefers playing at right-back and regards his switch to centre-back as purely temporary. Furlong has been deployed in the centre of defence in recent matches. “I don’t mind playing there but I definitely prefer playing at right-back and see myself as a right-back,” he said. “Doing a job for the team is what footballers have to do. I’m more than happy to do that for now and do my best when I can.” www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/furlong-i-want-to-play-at-right-back

Agree he might like RB but he’s made and his future is CB and think he will be a very decent one

Knew it was coming didn't we?
I just hope the proceeds are used wisely. Seems we are about to spend almost half of them on Alan Judge, which I think is a very risky transfer!

Pissed of with the transfer fee. Good move for the lad!
Sterling is a class replacement though and will hopefully ease the frustrations that from a business perspective the club is a shambles when it comes to selling players.

Building for the future? The signs have been there for 4 or 5 years less money to re invest after sales and loans replacing our players. How long can a club operate in this way?

The club will need to operate this way to survive for a few seasons yet. We should just be thankful that we have an effective youth system that brings through good youngsters. We'd be totally shafted without that!

Tarbie. Almost worth going to league 1 again and starting from scratch like sheff utd did as no chance we can operate like this for too long.

We are bringing through a lot of good young players. I think we've signed a few shitters this window, but hopefully there are 1 or 2 gems there too. We just need to ensure we keep bringing good young players through the system and we'll be fine. Also worth noting that a lot of other clubs are in, or will soon be in a similar predicament. Give it a few seasons and the average wage in the Championship will have come right down and everyone should have a bit more breathing space!

Who else in this league is making significant signings Fulham apart and I think they will blow up again. Nothing to fear from what I have seen from others

Good luck to Darnell Furlong. He will hopefully come back one day and make us and his dad proud.
