John Campbell was playing football , opposition player said " your brother is a iron " , John nutted him got 6 months . Family asked sol to put a few quid John's way when he got out... Millionaire Sols reply was " No , I never asked him to do it " . I think in the true version of that story, John Campbell kicked a kid half to death and only stopped cos others pulled him away. The fact the argument started because the other fella said his brother was gay seems rather inconsequential. Not a fan of Sol Campbell in any way, but to suggest he owes his brother some sort of debt of gratitude for defending his honour is way off the mark. |

I don't think that's the case at all mate. Not unless all the press that came out at the time was inaccurate.
As I understand it, the young fella he assaulted said something in a university lecture that they both attended about Campbell being gay. Then Campbell's brother arranged a premeditated assault on the fella to teach him a lesson.
Nothing I've read about the incident backs up what you are suggesting in that it was a spontaneous response to a slur about his brother.
