16th of March will be an interesting day. Pity we've already played them at home. What's the betting for Begovic to get an injury time winning header?

Probably as close as he can be to his beloved Glasgow Rangers!

How the fuck has he pulled that job out the bag, the slippery little wanker He's still respected in the game but its his last chance to justify that.

I'd say 'respected' is a strong word, he's done fuck all to earn respect (quite the opposite), but he is clearly quite a talented coach so tbf I can see why a club has taken the punt on him. Big job for him though, if he cocks this up (hopefully) I can't see him getting another job as the main man any time soon at all.

You don’t work for Liverpool twice if you’re not good at what you do, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Sunderland promoted alongside dirty Leeds.
Sunderland fans were moaning about Mowbray when he was appointed and are now doing similar with Beale, they really are a clueless bunch of fans. They have a very ambitious French owner with lots of good young players and are already in a strong position in the table.

Beale at Sunderland?? Oooer... [From Chris Willock thread] Wondering if the likes of an improving Sunderland might attract him (and he’d be near his brother)...

He's clearly rated as an up and coming manager, its why we are so annoyed with him for leaving. No one goes on about what Critcheley is up to every two minutes because no one cares. Glasgow Rangers was not a great fit for a manager of such little experience and it was a greedy, man-in-a-hurry decision on his part to take the job. Sunderland probably a better fit for him. Now he has to prove that potential. But no reason for us to be bitter, think we are all pretty happy with the manager we've got.

He had the gonads to take it on and it's one of the most pressured jobs in World football. As I said many times earlier in this thread, grown men getting the strop because they fell for the club enforced statement and got hurty feelings when he left is definitely up there with the worst moments in our fans' history.

i'm not bitter anymore but i don't like the eel prick. i wouldn't really have any resentment towards him if he hadn't said what he said after rejecting the wolves job.
grade A prick who started our downfall, its even more frustrating as he was the most promising manager we'd had in years.
i still rate him very highly though, he'll do well at sunderland and have them pushing for promotion.

definitely up there with the worst moments in our fans' history. Bit dramatic 🤣 Not as far as I'm concerned to be honest. The reaction to Beale leaving, the fake rivalry with Reading and the ridiculous belief that we have a rivalry with Cardiff are, for me, the 3 most embarrassing things in the history of QPR fans and it is staggering that all occur within the last 20 years. As said before, our fanbase has changed beyond all recognition and for the worse.

Not bothered about this cunt anymore. He’s totally irrelevant. I’m genuinely much happier with Marti at the wheel, come across as genuine and knowledgeable and actually has experience to back it up. Really enjoyed the football under Beale but looking back in hindsight there was always something a bit dodgy about him. Almost like he was acting. I don’t get that feeling with Marti. Sunderland are a good club and they are welcome to him, suspect willock will end up there if it all goes through

The Willock shout is probably a good one with his brother just up the road.

On SSN yesterday I saw his record at us flashed up on a screen & I was actually surprised it wasn't as good as I thought; managed 22 games, won 9, drew 4 and lost 9. Didn't think he lost as many as he won.

Good luck to him though will be watching with interest

Didn't think he lost as many as he won. I think he lost the plot after the Wolves approach and while being ‘courted’ by Rangers. I think he’s fairly decent coach, but a better ‘talker’ - he’s very good at sounding good and probably sold himself very well to Sunderland. I suspect he’ll do OK there, but Sunderland are in 6th place and I’m not convinced he’ll improve on that come the end of the season - in fact I think they’ll finish mid-table more or less.

Speaks a great deal of sense there, Jordan (not just that selected quote in the tweet). I disagree. I think it's illogical to have expected him to turn down the Rangers job. Forget what you hear down the pub about a 'farmer's league' and all that bollocks, Rangers are one of the biggest clubs in the World and have reached 2 European finals in the last 15 years. That opportunity doesn't come around often and you take it when it does. As Ive said before, people should be more angry with Les and Hoos for putting a cluse in his contract saying he can always speak to Rangers and for making him.give that ridiculous 'loyalty' interview. People should also question their own reactions to a man taking a new job. Also, he will have been told about his role at Sunderland not being more than 'Head Coach' and that suits him.

No, he was/is considered one of the best young coaches in England so we had to make compromises. No-one could have forseen that happening so soon. I'm just saying that if people are/were aggrieved there's the people to blame. No one turns down a job like that.
