fuck knows the situation going on with him. he's a lost cause at this point but maybe he has doctors on his side citing severe mental health issues making it nigh on impossible to cut him adrift. not sure if i buy that personally, last year was the worst of my life to the point that i was signed off work for a month due to mental struggles but there does come a point where you have to just get on with it and patch your life back together. plus i remember dobbo talking at length about taylor in a previous podcast, he was an open book about taylor needing to adjust his attitude and be a team player. its frustrating as hell though as the boy has talent but he's gunna squander it all for one reason or another. i feel like he's just taking us for a ride. You are right, we have all had completely shit years, I had one where pretty much everything went wrong that could go wrong (bar anything with my kids thank god). It got to the point where a fresh disaster struck and I would give out a hollow laugh. In a normal year one of those things going wrong would have made it a bad year, and that year I counted 8 such incidents. I felt completely crap but I picked myself and got on with it because I needed to earn a living for my family and I realised we only get one shot at all this, cliched tho' that thought is. I'm not saying this in any way to big myself up because I am sure most of you guys have done similar, its what most of us have to do. Footballers do seem way over-protected in a way that almost no other worker is, and the balance needs to change. Other super high earners like merchant bankers are fired in two minutes if they don't perform, but footballers receive fabulous wages and complete job security. The PFA argument is that footballer careers are short, but they need to take a look outside at the rest of the economy. Our dad's generation maybe had a job for life if they wanted it but I very much doubt anyone on here has had the security. They say that most of the occupations that kids now at school will end up in haven't even been invented yet. So why is a footballer set up for life yet is effectively absent from work for 18 months? its true though, its not like footballers are any less or more human than regular folk. we all have various issues happening to us in our lives and i bet everyone on this forum has gone through real dark periods at some stage or another. you struggle with it but either learn to live with it, move on from it or just get on with it until it all balances out and things start looking up. footballers do for sure get pampered a bit too much. they have access to some of the greatest mental health treatment that many of us could only dream of. but in the same breath it can also help create a taylor richards. i'm a big advocate of better mental health treatment in general - especially for men, but in the same breath it needs to be productive. i feel like in richards case he may well have had mental health issues last year, wallowed in it and was coddled and is at the point were he's happy just rolling in money. he doesn't give a shit about his career, he doesn't care about the club and is instead just sucking money out of the club and using the protection of doctors to stop his contract being torn up. if those typical benefit scroungers can spend years dodging work and claiming a bad back or whatever then why not a professional footballer?

Never understood that argument as: 1. So what? 2. Many careers are short and most nowhere near as well paid. 3. Players know that going into job so what's to prevent them from preparing and planning for their post-retirement careers (coaching, punditry, running a pub etc) - if they've not already made enough for the rest of their life by then, of course?

Got to look to just get rid on the freest of free transfers. Probably the most pointless signing we have made in a long time

Looks like they've got shot of him. Good. Have we? Or just continuing to pay him without him being in the squad for selection? (Genuine question by the way).

I had sympathy at the start if he had health issues which could not be shared but sympathy only stretches so far. You are paid to do a job. If there is acceptance he wont be able to do the job on regular or reliable basis going forwards then they need find a way of exiting him whether that is a compromise or dismissal they need do something.

Hope they have at least reached a compromise agreement so they are not paying the full wack.
The Albert incident was the final straw as clear Taylor’s presence (or lack of) was hitting team morale - important to show that behaviour is not tolerated. Another sign of improved club management imho

Turn up, train, play. It couldn't be easier. Set up for life. A job most people would give their eye teeth for. What a fucking loser.

What actually is an eye tooth? Apparently it's the canines, because they're located approximately below the eyes.

Christ on a bike. What an absolute clusterfuck. If he can't play for us, or even train, surely we can terminate? Then again baboons were basically running the club until very recently, with about as much idea of contract law as theyt had of football.

Fair enough, sorry if I got that wrong, maybe he was just no longer listed in the first team squad or something. Yeah if not terminated it surely means we are still paying the parasite's wages.

What a fucking piss taking cunt.
Unbelievable industry that you could just literally down tools and get paid thousands of pounds a week with no come back. Unreal.

It really pissed me off about football. Same with being a shit manager and losing week in week out. You still get paid off. There isn’t another job on the planet where you can literally do nothing and your employer has no power whatsoever. Players like this should be ashamed of themselves. At the end of the day he signed a contract that outlines being fit and ready to contribute as a bare minimum and the useless cunt can’t even manage that. Blokes a fucking bellend
