Can’t be worse that Dykes can he really Exactly my point. Anything is better than nothing the state we’re in.

Not to bad of a short term signing imo. Holds the ball up really well, gets stuck in and is better technically than he gets credit for. He's a cart horse. Just got a feeling he is going to be one of these signings that might work out when we least expect it.

So who's signing do we think this was then? Any ideas Jim? Not a danny mate. Gotta be the gaffer. Apparently we had 5 strikers on deadline day that we wanted one of but couldn’t sort due to the loans we have. This one was obviously a free agent so no brainer.

If he just stands on the edge of the oppo penalty area the law of averages says something will go in off him, so a better option than Dykes already and won't get in the way of Jamal or Willock.

Don"t let any of them fuckers tell any fan how hard they worked to get him. They have got him in only due to Dykes being ruled out for an extended period of time.

This wont work if they play him as one up, same as Dykes. I can't see him running in behind and beating the trap, hasnt got the legs. Plus we're shite at link up play off a solo 9, you need to be really compact and we dont do that.
I'd have two play off him in the middle of a three. Not sure Critch knows how to set that up though. He's 4-2-3-1 at heart like JFH and Warbs ie negative.

Yes, desperation by us and him, having had his contract terminated.
Short contract, he’s going to want to prove himself, so think he could be fired up.
Could suit both parties.

Clever ruse this. No transfer deadline day for us. Stick to transfer targets who are unemployed and we can sign 'em whenever we want. Is Kieran Dyer still available/ alive?

Love these really thoughtful signings. We have such a wonderful scouting network to unearth these hidden gems. Another big tick for the Les and Hoos muppet show.

This was the underwhelming signing i heard we were getting for some reason i thought he was at Blackpool had no clue he was at Bristol City
im happy hes here to lead the line and get others involved but the other striker we were after didnt materialize as Dykes would have been gone hadnt he been laid up in hospital
just saying

I'm not sure what the following says, or how it relates to our absolutely pathetic policy of unearthing strikers, but it says something about clubs and managers and spotting talent. Now 21, Folarin Balogun was on loan at Middlesbrough last season (from Arsenal), but mainly used as a sub by Wilder, and didn't appear to be all that. However, he did score 3 in 4 games towards the end of the season, which made many Boro fans think they might get him back this season. But it wasn't pursued and he went instead on loan to Reims in Ligue 1, where he has subsequently scored 14 goals already this season. Suddenly he's hot property.
What did Chris Wilder miss? Why didn't it work at Boro? Why did no one else spot his talent? The other thing of significance in this story is that Reims sacked their former manager in October after only winning one game and replaced him with English unknown 30 year old Will Still, who's never played professional football. They're unbeaten since then.
How did Reims find Still and who recruited Balogun? Okay, you could say this was a fluke, and that it doesn't really mean anything, but it kind of shows just how inefficient the whole process of talent spotting and scouting still is - not just at QPR, but in general. Depsite all the analysis, the Belk stuff, the scouting network, Les Ferdinand's supposed connections, we have been unable to find a single decent striker in the last - what - 9 seasons? I know this crosses over with other threads, but how is Les still in his job? What's the point of Belk if he can't find a single decent striker? The desperation signing of Chris Martin sums it all up. Pathetic.

Dykes would have been gone hadnt he been laid up in hospital Not according to Critchley. The sole interest in Dykes was an inquiry from wall. That was it, fuck all else. He was never going to GR or anywhere else. We couldn't even recoup the dosh we pissed up the wall for him. Unsurprisingly, imo.

Jamal Lowe should be No 9 till the end of the season Know we’re the net is Scored v Huddersfield because he was moving forward anticipating/hoping for a half chance. Donkey hasn’t done that in nearly three years. Doesn’t have to be a big lump up front if you have a goal scorer, just play to strengths.

As I previously said on this thread where is the negatives?
We have a natural forward with experience coming in. No brainer.
We know we’re skint ffs. What were people expecting?

I do not mind the signing of Martin and I wish him the best of luck. He was never quick so will have lost no pace. Good luck on Saturday Chrissy Martin.
