At least he seemed in his interview to get the point that many of us have been screaming about for ages now about the giving away of so many cheap free kicks. No fan minds a "professional foul" to stop a goal but so many of the set plays we give away are either petulant little taps or desperation because the defender hasn't got a proper block in first time or has been way out of position. Think all of our defenders are reasonably able in many ways but it has to come down to coaching.

Just seen on highlights first WBA goal was handball. Didn’t spot that at the time. Posted that on way home yesterday on train. Clearly saw him palm it in from where I was & also the tall CB handballed it also later on denying us a pen again with his back to the ref who was unsighted I guess. It's bollox really. |

Got to admit that West Brom is a really good away ground , right by the station , decent view ,friendly supporters and the Vine pub sold excellent chicken tikka ! Obviously it helped coming back from 2.0 down too .

The rules of football are the same throughout the league so why should it be ok for a ref who can’t implement them properly in one division be allowed to fuck up in another. It’s the fans that suffer not just the ref that’s being demoted. |
