Dominic Gape, Lewis Wing & Sean Clare are all being linked too. All are on free transfers I think. Heard of Wing but not the other 2.

Smyth a better player than Shopido by far
Wonder if this was one of the reasons for the Les and Ainsworth fallout
It is a bit worrying all the div 1 players we are being linked with very worrying in fact
We seem pretty fucked to be honest I’m afraid to say div 1 players are there for a good reason

Having reflected on the Smyth thing a bit, I don't mind it. Given the pickle we seem to be in financially, he's probably a safe bet for a squad player. We know what we'll get. At least he'll put a shift in, and he's probably a half decent outlet for type of football Ainsworth is likely to play. He always gave 100% when he got a chance last time round. Probably about where we need to set expectations at this point in time. A bit of a cliche perhaps, but the sum of its parts is the essential thing.

Gens, all I will say is perhaps we have some money tucked away (or on its way should Dykes, Chair, Dieng etc. get sold, and or Eze moves and we get a sell on).
Perhaps this will be like Warnock's first window where we sign a load of water carriers and spend on 1 or 2 players with a bit more quality about them.

Smyth was good for us at first but never got played for some bizarre reason
Then his mum slagged of the manager saying he’s good enough to player for Ireland but not qpr
So he was sold on these were the facts this also means Ainsworth is going for wingers

Hope so Tarbs maybe this re build is exactly what we need tbh none of really know do we Its going to be really tough next year the clubs in the league look very hard Maybe Les leaving will signal a new dawn at the club personally I like Smyth as a player Better to have a player who wants to play rather than sit in the medical room Roberts Johanson Balogun Amos What’s the point of that ffs

It will be a bit like that except the shit names none of us were excited by (Hill, Derry etc) will be really shit this time because they will be free transfers from League 1; and there will be no Adel to add his star dust. Good as even Hill and Derry etc were, without Adel that team wd have been mid-table

Factually that is just bollox Agree to disagree stains go have a lie down 😂 I’m lying down with a glass of something cold on a lovely Kentish evening mate. But Britain has the lowest economic growth in the G20 - the only country performing worse is Russia, which is fighting a war and facing economic sanctions. If you still support Brexit that is your right and we will indeed agree to disagree - but economically v v hard to argue that it has been anything other than a disaster

Saw somewhere Scowen being linked to us. I do hope that is shite Saw that. Worse even than I feared. At least I thought Ainsworth might have a few undiscovered, young lower league gems up his sleeve - but he seems to be scouting players who were discovered by us about a decade ago and discovered to be shite. Almost feel General-levels of frustration with our club at the moment. Literally any poster on here could come up with some more inspiring free transfers than these cunts. What the fuck is going on?

I don't know why the club bothers. There is no vision, strategy, purpose, culture, standards, philosophy, objectives, values, plan, ambition. Why the fuck do they continue?

I’ve got nothing against Smyth as a player. Maybe he’ll do brilliantly for us. But where are the players we haven’t heard of? Or players from abroad? We have zero imagination and forward thinking. So depressing This times a million. Nothing changes. Just more regression.

Even if we wanted Scowen, surely he wouldn't come back? He was hounded by fans and that's why he left. Didn't even celebrate when he scored goals at the end of it.
Which is good, as I don't want him back. He wasn't good enough then so he won't be good enough now he's hit 30.

Imo, Les should have left his position earlier. That would probably have made the recruitment process easier for GA and Belk ...

Imo, Les should have left his position earlier. That would probably have made the recruitment process easier for GA and Belk ... Which begs the question, if Les hadn't reportedly fallen out with Ainsworth over transfers, would he still be here? Probably an unpopular view but I wonder if Ainsworth staying is actually going to be more damaging than Les staying. Les was basically completely ineffective but I THINK he was at least in favour of developing players. My fear is Ainsworth will just want to bring in cloggers who will give him blood, sweat and tears who he thinks might just scramble enough ugly points to keep him in a job till Christmas. It won't be his problem when he's sacked that we have half a dozen carthorses on long contracts that the next manager refuses to play and no one - and I mean no one - will want to buy.
