I’m just delighted we win.
Weird thing is if you look at teams between 3-6 in the table you think earlier in the season we probably fancied ourselves as being at least as good as them. So little between teams in this division. Really weird division - huge relief combined with what might have been…

So little between teams in this division. Really weird division - huge relief combined with what might have been… I looked at the table and saw Luton on 78 points in 3rd place and Millwall in 5th as well. We had a chance early on and blew it and lessons need to be learned and using those two teams as benchmarks it would not take a fortune to get to those position just excellent recruitment.

Won’t bore you (all) with full story, suffice to say in the 21st century we can’t even run a fucking railway in this country. I was going to Sheffield after game, via Stockport. Ended up getting there after midnight because something had happened to a bridge over the track. Probably a pigeon had shat on it the way we make a drama out of everything these days. No rail staff had a clue what to do and trains were full of Wednesday coming back from Shrewsbury. Wasn’t pleasant. BTP everywhere on double bubble doing fuck all.

Stoke manage Alex Neil:
Priceless. Clearly still bitter about Seny's last minute equaliser up at Sunderland.

He’s not wrong though we were not very good but neither were they. I would be more worried about what his own lot think about how they are playing as the emptying of the stadium and the conversations I overhead walking back car that’s not a happy fanbase.
Sats game was not about playing well it was about three points.

Agree Stoke looked a very poor side. But I think we were worthy winners. We took our goal well and our defending was excellent. Overall I'd describe it as a decent enough away performance with the pressure on us to get a result. We never looked like conceding if I'm honest and the team spirit looked strong.

Now the dust has settled, you would have to be a very demanding fan to complain that the last two away games were not pretty. As others have said, it was all about survival. No one will remember next season that we won ugly at Stoke and Burnley, they will just see that we are still in the Championship. No one would have believed ten days ago we would get max points from these two games. I think we were quite lucky, especially against Burnley, but we have had plenty of bad luck over the season and its meant to even itself out. Against all that, we won't win too many back to back games with 20% possession and those pass completion stats. The question now is whether Ainsworth has the nouse to keep that defensive solidity but improve our ball retention. When Paulo Sousa was manager we were pretty boring but he did combine being very tight at the back with "looking after the football" (Warbs). Had he been given more time I think we would have improved attack-wise as there was a clear system. If Ainsworth can't improve retention, then don't see how we will develop players to sell which is the only way we can survive economically. No one buys players who practice hoof-ball. A hell of a lot of big decisions need to be made almost immediately, given the new season kicks off in three months, and unlike the last few seasons we have virtually no structure in place and almost nothing to build on. Yet with a DoF reportedly out of the door in all but name and a board of directors who don't seem to have much of a grasp, is anyone at the top level of the club starting to think about the structure and strategy for the club next season?

On the other hand, assuming Les stays on and with so little time to make changes in the squad, it could be that Les and GA should work out something together. I suggest this as an option because a few months ago Les was in Columbia scouting players. Make no mistake about it: GA has to have the final say with regards to the individual player`s quality of course...
