Agree with the general fan sentiment over lack of interest in the cups but the obvious counter-argument is we NEED the money that cup runs can bring. Ainsworth and Hoos know this too, so there is a balancing act to be struck. After a poor preseason there was general lack of interest in the league, too. After first win that has changed a bit. It's the same with cup. In advance only a few are interested but every win multiplies the interest. And the money. |

If a sale is in the pipeline it`s the Perfect opportunity for any potential Chair replacement from within the club to make their mark on this match. Chair needs a rest also, imo. He ran himself into the ground on Saturday.

Ainsworth and Hoos know this too, so there is a balancing act to be struck. You only earn money deep into the competition in the league cup and only away games against a top team. Winners get £100,000 prize money but the split from gates is 45% each. I’d much rather focus on the league personally. |

Some on here were clamouring for Kolli and Aroaha to be given a go, might see it tomorrow night now. I've got no problem with it.

It would be good to have some subtle changes from the start rather than just chucking four or five youngsters on in the 60min, I won’t be surprised to see the likes of Kelman starting upfront with Dykes.

Think the win at Baadiff has given me an injection of unrealistic expectations...
So, got to calm down and brace myself for the (probable) annual humiliation of the first round of the Caraboa (or any) Cup.
Not expecting anything out of tonight's game unless Norwich select a combination of their U18's and canteen staff in their starting line up.

I remember too many league cup games where the manager picked players that basically took the p155 out of the paying fans and this includes Warnock in 2010 and 2011... I absolutely refuse to pay my hard earned on a 1st round home game...
Fair play to all those who attend and I am certain we will be victorious...

i don't care too much about the cups tbh, glorified friendlies to me as we're unlikely to go far in one but i'd for sure jump on the bandwagon if we did.
even so, a win would be nice if only to draw a big team away. would love to visit old trafford.
hopefully we play a mix of 1st teamers and youngsters, armstrong will likely be rested but it'll be a good chance to see kolli getting a run out.

We were close to reaching quarter finals in 2021, only losing to Sunderland after having a goal wrongly disallowed. |
