Heres a novel idea why not play the young man in a role he could actually do some damage in and build his confidence. That might give him a chance and be the making of him.
Have you seen that miss today? Similar to the one at Birmingham. how you still feel the need to defend after that is unbelievable. That’s not bad luck or lack of confidence it’s not having a strikers instinct.
He’s not a striker that’s not digging him out it’s just a clear observation having watched majority of his games. It’s not his fault we have no strikers but that don’t mean he has to be the only option either. Is that unfair to say?

I don’t think they are better options think our front line is dire if honest but have others had same chances as Dykes or Armstrong.
I think Armstrong out wide could be really effective and could see him scoring odd goal from that position.

Having watched today one thing which is glaring this season is that there is zero partnerships in this team absolutely no cohesion.
We’ve seen it with willock and Chair, eze and BOS even Wallace and willock had understanding but there is nothing in this team.

Well that’s where Armstrong has played for much of his short career, perhaps that explains why he’s struggling this season being offside and missing 3 sitters in my book all season.
I could understand your frustration with him if there was someone better to take over his current role or he was 24 or 25 with experience and was getting decent service from Colback an co but he getting next to nothing right now.

Genuine question do you have confidence going into games that if chances fall to Armstrong he’s going snap them up? Why does he go for todays opportunity with wrong foot giving defender chance to get back in? Stab it with your left and he’s picking ball out net.

We can’t defend, we have nothing creative or hard to break down in MF. No I’m not confident in Armstrong putting away chances as we create nothing and he’s a rabbit in the headlights with the scraps. I saw serious confidence problems in him months ago when missing chances for ROI U21s. Like Warburton did with Popadom hands Lumley Ainsworth has failed to look after a youngster. Everybody knew we needed another experienced striker. Ainsworth brought in 3 extra players that have all recently played at LB and Cook who’s no better than Dunne |
