He highlighted physicality issues post-match. So he is acutely aware of it and I'd be shocked if he wasn't. Expect it to be further addressed this international break. What also came across in the interview is wanting to get the balance right with his balling approach, which was the key to his success last season. But its been 3-4 games Stan. His team, his players his style of play ,its like flogging a dead horse.

No with everyone fit: Nardi Dunne, JCS, Cook, Paal Field, Colback Saito, Dembele, Chair Frey Bar the back four and Chair that's the same underperforming side. Radical change needed. Nardi Dunne Cook JCS Smyth EBD Field Colback Paal Chair Frey. There's also a case for going to a back four of Dunne Cook JCS Fox. It’s tweaks we need not a massive overhaul. If we have same good defence and Nardi as goalie, we should be able to keep more clean sheets and stay in games. We also do this by having the additional protection of 2 of Field, Colback and Varane. If we’re defensively solid and difficult to beat, we stay in games. Then going forward in Saito, Dembele and Chair we should have enough quality to score the odd goal to win games.

I like Marti so obviously want him to stay. But let's not forget, this time last season quite a many here wanted to give Ainsworth whole season, even in League One (never me). Then we went about 10 games without a win and most games didn't even have a shot on target so he deservedly got sacked.

Should of been addressed when indentifying players in close season his or Nourys picks to fit his system. Pile of rubbish, havent give a thought about the rigours of this league. He continues to play that style with the famous four its madness Even an older fan can see it,yet some still take the piss.

The big difference is that Marti did an incredible job last season to keep us in the division. Ainsworth had had a disappointing part season and stayed up with a Burnley game we lose 999 times out of 1000. Marti had earnt some time.

Then we went about 10 games without a win and most games didn't even have a shot on target so he deservedly got sacked. tbh though the mood around when gaz was in charge was completely different. at best it was optimism that he'd prove us all WRONG rather than anyone outright backing him lol. i'm a self confessed happy clapper and more patient than most but even i had reservations and doubts about gaz in charge. gaz was riding on his good will as a player but my god we looked dreadful even in the games we won. i think that we maybe looked good against cardiff away but that was about it. with marti though he has a lot of credit in the bank so earned the right to try and experiment with a different style of play. i think everyone can see what he's been trying to do but it has absolutely failed at this point and needs to be changed dramatically as we're being sussed out far too easily. players not coming up to speed and in some cases regressing is a bit of a worry. the biggest worry for me is madsen as with the ball and time to spare he's great but the league doesn't work like that and his lack of ANY physical or defensive presence is concerning. why has a guy his size and age never learned how to head the ball or use his frame for example, right strange one that.

Anyone who genuinely compares Gareth Ainsworth & Marti Cifuentes needs to go and see a professional for a little chat.

He mentions that in his last interview. So he can see it as well. What did he say Sponge? Must admit can never face listening to I/vs after we lose. That we have bought players to play a certain way, but it won't work if they don't do the other side of the game as well.

That we have bought players to play a certain way, but it won't work if they don't do the other side of the game as well. Thanks Sponge. At least he recognises that I guess. But something pretty fundamental has gone wrong with our recruitment. Madsen was a HUGE signing for us relative to budget. The club has bought someone clearly incapable or unwilling to tackle or head the ball. This has been obvious every game he has played. Yet there has been zero improvement. Maybe he has actually got worse, if that is possible. So is it a failure of coaching, or management to get across what is so obviously needed? Or is it that the player simply can't/ won't change the way he plays? And what is squarely on Marti is team selection: it is very obvious to just about every poster on here that you can't have Madsen AND Andersen, if you are also going to play Saito and Dembele. Physically, thats like playing with 7 players. Anyone who watched us against Millwall could see that wouldn't work. Several of us said so on here. Doesn't make us Pep, its just stating what was there before our eyes. Yet Marti persisted so that Derby stuffing is very much on him.

Haha, no comparison between the two as such, just stating bald facts of the team's position compared over the two seasons. Gaz and Marti are like chalk and cheese. Delighted Marti signed a new contract with us and am sure things will improve.

Why? We’d line up 4231 so you’ve got our best defenders, two breaking things up (you’d hope) three creating and getting wide if they move like Chair and Willock did when we were playing well, and our best bet for a goalscorer in the middle.

Might as well score a few while we're at it, do wonders for confidence.

Not often i disagree with you but i do this time.
They ate fine when things are going well but not in the same team in this league
Put it another way would you like them in the trenches with you.
You have to compete in this league on every front, that means 11 players with guts determination, passion, desire and fight.
I dont see that in either of them and a few others to be honest.

Bench Danes as well and we won’t have any players left though. More or less my point Alan, once again we have gone from one disaster to another and spent money on a bunch of wallflowers who dont suit this league, except Nardi. So once again we find ourselves up a creek without any paddles. Even when Chair,Jcs and Colback there are going to be injuries and suspensions and we have this lot in reserve to plug the holes. You could not make it up. Dont know exact figures but maybe 6 mill spent on wallflowers is fucking expensive.

Worrying that, apart from Nardi, everyone would bench all our signings one way or another. Well not everyone Al. We have seen glimpses of what some of these signings can do so I am sure they are all not for the bin just yet, despite what some posters would delight in seeing. I am seeing a combination of a lack of bite in that middle compared to last season (or indeed earlier in the season where the spine actually looked ok) Blackburn sending off seems to have set a period of mental frailty into our team as well. We really could do with getting JCS and JC back and grind out a few results. I am sure things would start to improve thereafter.
