Will he compete with playing time with Smyth or Dixon-Bonner? CM. Partnered with the Newcastle bloke. No more Big Girl's Blouse and Charlie Drake 🙏🏻 Might see a forward pass in central midfield.

Thanks, so our CM duo is chosen from Field, Colback, Hodge, Hayden and Dixon-Bonner? At least we have some alternatives now.

I think that explains much of our troubles now the defence has tightened up. CM has offered no attacking threat. None.

Probably going to play in the more attacking of the midfield 3 role. Moves Dykes out and can provide the link up with Chair and Willock or Smyth. Gives us options to chance things. I’m just trying to be optimistic. Will all come crashing down tomorrowThe narrative will be "they need time to bed in" unless "they hit the ground running" 😂 With our luck they'll just stay in bed or hit the ground and not get up again.

Know absolutely nothing about this kid but going on his interview I like his persona and attitude. Let's hope we have a little gem on our hands.
Most importantly for me, we've actually got some competition for places (slightly) too many players were comfortable knowing there was no one good enough to replace them.
First one I want to see out the team, not surprisingly is the jock. Get ta fuck.

You are right about competition.
If we sign the Danish guy and the new players are all starters then by my reckoning the following could be spending a fair bit of time on the subs bench:
Dykes Armstrong Willock Smith Field EDB Dunne Fox, and that's before you get to Kakay, Lakarche, Koli and Drewe

Was a very decent first appearance and 35ish minutes but think reading some of the comments on social media were in danger of building this fella up and putting unnecessary pressure on the lad ala Armstrong.
Looks decent and prospect but let him grow into the team with out the hype I’m reading.

I’ve watched all his highlight reels a couple of times and it’s his instant decision making that makes him really stand out, one or two touches is all he ever takes.
Even his goal yesterday was similar in that vein as the shot was his first touch due to changing his body shape in an instant.

Got good quick feet & that was a great run for his goal.
Funny he found that space in a matter of minutes yet Dozzell & Field I've never seen make a run like that. Ever.

He’s clearly quality, you can see that straight away, and he’s no kid. I’ve no doubt he can handle playing for us given where he’s come from. Give him a run and I’ll bet he’ll be a fixture. Then we won’t be able to afford him😁

Totally agree, but when he scores a goal like that on his debut it's inevitable some fans are going to get carried away. Up to his dad and Marti just to keep his feet on the ground and remain 'humble' - Marti's buzzword which I really like.

Interesting point from his dad was that they’re big on decision making with players at City. Make your mind up early then you have more time to execute. That couldn’t have been shown better than the way he took his goal.

Saw a bit of that from him yesterday the way he moved the ball quickly and without fuss.

Very much so. His anticipation, quick 1 or 2 touch passing, and forward passes was so refreshing to see (just in his 30 minute appearance) as we've been starved of that in midfield this season.

"looking forward to linking up with (Sincs)"
Too right, and boy, did they link up!
With Hayden as the midfield pivot alongside Colback/Field and Chair, Hodge and Sincs ahead of him, our team is suddenly transformed.
Best starting 11 for me:
Begbie
Cannon Cook JCS Larkeche
Hayden Colback
Smyth Hodge Chair
Sincs

I read on Twatter someone giving 'even more reasons to love Gary O'Neil'.
One was stuffing Chelsea today.
Another was for the free loan of Joe Hodge.
Anyone know how/why the Hodge loan could be described as 'free'?

Anyone know how/why the Hodge loan could be described as 'free'? no loan fee and wolves are paying his wages? they probably wanted him to get game time and given it was a last minute thing there was little time for negotiation. used to be fairly common a few years back for young players to be sent out on free loans to championship sides but there tends to be a fee and a % of wages paid nowadays. league 1 and league 2 clubs still often get free loans though.
