The 'Where's the Boro match thread?' match threadOr is it this it? They must be feeling a bit perkier having beaten Norwich last night, and with 47 points, they're pretty much safe now. So is that good for us, or not? Middlesbrough... neither Mackem or Geordie... they're just somewhere in t'middle, oop norf like... and guess what, they're known as Smoggies. So let's beat 'em lads, for that, if nothing else, and beat 'em good!

middlesbrough have some great fans tbh, second best fans for me on a personal level as i can remember being in a pub with a few of them a few years ago and one of them bought me a pint. comfortably edged out by bristol city fans though who shared many beers with me on a train from reading to paddington a few years back, only time i've gone to a game drunk and they had temporarily converted me to bristol by the end of the journey.
think boro are on the beach at this point though and have nothing to play for. even so we musnt underestimate them as they have a good squad and beat norwich during the midweek.
going for a nervy 1-0 win.

They have lost to Plymouth and Stoke in their last 7 games, but had good results against more fancied teams. Could go either way. I'd take a draw right now.

Well Norwich were winning 1-0 until they had a player was sent off after half an hour, so not maybe what it seems. Should give them confidence though.

Boro seem to be a right mixed bag. Certainly won't be easy but fresh off the back of Wednesday's performances surely we will be bang up for this & hopefully put in a similar level of performance, which means I do cautiously fancy us for a big win.
COYRs!

Wot no poll?
I actually want to vote "win" - unheard of for me this season.
Hope that's not me setting myself up for a fall in classic Rangers fashion. But by all accounts Boro's win against Norwich would have been a lot more in the balance if they had been facing 11 men. They were in terrible form before that and not a lot to play for.
My team:
Asmir
Jimmy Cookie JSC Paal
Sammy Coleback
Andersen Willock Chair
Muscles
Coleback for Hayden - thought Hayden looked a bit leggy on Tuesday despite being excellent in previous games and Coleback offers more going forward
Muscles for Frey - Frey magnificent on Tuesday despite pen but his little bamby legs prob need rotating. Don't know if Boro defence slow and play the off-side trap? If not we will probably get Dykes.

Soz lads and lasses, poll added. A win would give us some breathing room and a massive boost. Win this, draw away at Sunderland and beat Brum at home and we will have had a spectacular March. But as we all know, nothing is guaranteed, and Boro could easily surprise us. Think it could end up a hard fought draw.
COME ON URRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrssssssss!!!!!

Normally can't stand listening to our manager interviews (gave up when we had critchley) but bar his pronunciation of "Noooritch" (!) he just speaks so incredibly well and seems to strike such a good balance between bigging every one up while reminding everyone how much more there is to do. Wd be interesting to know what the greats of 76 said to him

Going out on a limb to say 2-0 Rangers
Just hope the other nights gargantuan effort hasn’t knocked the bollox out of us.

Not sure Frey can do starts twice in a week as it stands.

This is the first time in a while that I go to games whoever thinking we will win the game. Stoke aside this manager has got this team playing the way we want them to and with a style and belief. Boro are a total jekyll and hyde team but they are beatable and the fans are a little confused with Carrick at the moment

My gut is that we will see Colback, Willock and Dykes in for Hayden, Smyth and Frey.

If you're reading this thread Marti Cifuentes, You are our Maharishi yogi of all things association football. The 5th Beatle Bahgwan of the loftus road dojo.
A tender soul humbly offering his abundant gifts.. A high sensei 5th dan shaolin monk of the beautiful game who has eyes to see.
And as you're on a roll Marti , seemingly having all the answers, I was watching The new 'Dune' Film last night and have a question for you and your coaching staff..
Can you and your brilliant Staff reproduce the formula of the Variant of raw base 'Spice Melange' known as 'Semuta' , which as you may well know Marti, is extracted from the burnt residue of the elacca wood and indigenous only to the wastelands of Giedi Prime?.
I ask only because when smoking this 'semuta' in conjunction with certain tonal resonations and sawtooth vibrations produced by a Harkonnen 6 stringed Lute, it can keep you carnally aroused on a seemingly endless wave of sexual ecstasy for 3 solid months. This sounds pretty nifty to me at the moment as my wife is going through her menopause and i've been Barclays Banking since last november.
I realise it may be difficult foraging for the base ingreidents along the bloemfontein road but if anyone can do it , you can Marti!
May Middlesbrough's Knife chip and shatter.
3-2 Superhoops . The Total Football must flow.
