Absolutely love Marti, one of THE only lights in a very dark season but, Warnock was the man to get us out of the mess to then bring Marti in for pre season. It was so clear. Jimmy, can you imagine the teacups and orange-peels flying across the dressing room had Neil got in there? Wouldn't have been pretty but reckon it would have worked. Hindsight is wonderful but many of us called for it at the time. And yes, Marti would have been ideal for the pre-season. Would have been fireworks but the man knows how to get teams adapted to certain situations. We've brought MC into a league he knows fuck all about to work in with a piss poor, shitty, fragile squad. Madness.

More and more it should have been Colin, with Marti next summer.

For me the most depressing thing about these games is we sort of saunter out of the traps. You sensed on here and talking to other Rs fans we were all so pumped for this game. We as fans all got how crucial it was. You are away to the team in the second worst form in the league. You yourselves are - ironic to say it now - actually in really good form with two wins and two draws out of your last four games. You know (as Andy Sinton commented) their fan base is really restless. So surely you really go for it the first 20 minutes, put them under massive pressure. But other than that one burst from Paul Smith in the first couple of minutes and tbf two or three powerful runs from Armstrong, we just didn't push. We were so passive. So gradually they grew in confidence. I'm a big fan of Marti, but surely pre-match was the moment for a bit of Churchililan "we will fight them on the beaches, we will never surrender" stuff. But either that wasn't the message or the players just froze. Again. As they always seem to when they really need to step up. Its really hard to know from the outside whether its a lack of commitment and fight or whether they are just paralysed by lack of confidence. Either way it seems a problem deeper than football coaching or team selection (suspect tho' I thought that was). Do we employ a psychologist? Like England did under Southgate? Or is the mentality simply too weak to improve he mindset? Get Eileen Drury in I'd get Darren Brown in to hypnotise them into thinking they are half decent players at this rate...

Worried, but no doom and gloom just yet.
Only needs ONE team to plummet faster than we’re falling.
At the moment Millwall are doing their best to do just that.
Can we win FOUR more points than them by the end of the season?
I think we can.

Rotherham probably doomed but there are two places to worry about.

Imagine if it goes down to the final day. With their track record of performing under pressure they’d probably be too scared to board the fucking bus to Coventry.

If we’re going to pull this off we’re going to have to improve our win rate at home

Can see us somehow winning 2-1 or 3-1 tomorrow and drawing with Rotherham next week. I do not think we have players with the minerals to get us out of this. Regardless of where are next season I would like to see every player who played under Warburton and Beale moved on as they would have let at least 3 managers down and in MW case four. I did not like these players 2 years ago and less so now. Build the team around armstrong and maximise his pace and power. Armstrong with development is a massive asset in this day and age where forwards are sold for bundles.

Only scored more than 2 ONCE in a season and a half - that’s dreadful.

Assuming we do what we need to at home against Rotherham, Wednesday and Birmingham we’re probably going need try find two more wins or a win and couple draws and that will leave it very tight. Prob going need pick up one away win minimum.
4 wins and two draws is 14 points giving total of 43 points which would normally keep you up but only just but I fear could be higher then that this year.

Haven't given up yet, but no denying losing to Stoke a real setback - I expected a draw. The candidates to go down is narrowing. Blackburn probably just about safe, also doubt Brum will go down now. My main hope is Millwall who are dropping like a stone. And a little bit Swansea. We are shit, but so are a lot of other teams. One win can suddenly make things look very different.

Think we need 48 to be sure so 5 wins and 3 draws should do it.
Think it will go to last game at Coventry, thought this for a while now.

Think got look to get 44 minimum as that keeps you up most seasons and hope it’s the same this.

Remember back in 1996 we were away at Coventry, and lost 1-0. That effectively relegated us baring a few unlikely results. We took a fair few, but we were pretty resigned to it beforehand. Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.
