I'll add a poll here shortly as there's been a fair amount of chat about this. Votes can be changed until the end of the season as the poll will remain open until then. Surely either Cook or Dunne for POTY? Cook, for me, because he has been so consistent and so reliable, the rock of our defence. JCS has also proved to be a class defender at this level. Incredible turnaround from how we were under the last bloke. Not Dunne for me as his renaissance came relatively late in the season. Very tight between JCS and Cook as things stand imo.

Cook. Never less than outstanding. Can't think of a mistake he's made. Maybe the overshot backpass against Brum. Lol?

JCS for me with cook a close second. JCS has been phenomenal all season, a solid, reliable and consistent 8/10 every game. i think a lot of what he does goes under the radar as he tends to regain control so quickly to the point threats rarely develop on his side of defence but when it does he's not afraid to put in a slide tackle inside the box.
aside from JCS and cook the pickings are a bit slim. chair maybe, dunne's turned his season around and hayden has been a revelation since coming in.

Has to be Cook. As I said in the JCS thread, he's been the rock upon which our remarkable turnaround has been founded. The true captain of our side, a fantastic bloke, and now contributing with goals as well.

My early prediction is this is going to be a rather closely fought contest between Cook and JCS 😅

No matter how impressive JCS has been this season, I don't see how anyone can have him over Steve Cook. I feel very strongly about this!

Edit: Gone for Cook for his organizational skills.

Agreed but devil advocate would argue our upturn in form has been since Dunne moved to right back and there are still 6 game to go. Saying that I do agree it’s between Cook and JCS.

I’d melt them all down and give one big trophy to Marti. He can even have goal of the season for Jimmy’s volley - he was the only one to see him at right back 😁

Cook for me. I think he has a bigger presence than JCS, and thus more important for the team. JCS close second.

The positive is we have at least two strong contenders.
Prob between Cook and JSC, tilting towards Cook. JSS a better player technically but POTY is surely the player who has had most impact on the team's season, and the stat about how many games we have won with Cook in it is hard to look past.
Still too early for me to vote tho. Lyndon might still get 20 goals...

Bit too early for me, likely vote when we are either mathematically safe or god forbid down...
Think I know my choice already

JCS followed by Cook.
If Hayden had been here all season playing at level he has he would have been a contender.

Steve Cook has been like an amalgam of Shaun Derry and Clint Hill. It would be a travesty if he didn't get POTY.

Close between Cook and Clark Salter. The one thing that is certain is Clarke Salter has been quality since being paired with Cook.

Another stat to consider when choosing POTY should be points per game. And of all players who have been here all season Cookie leads as expected with 1.43 to JCS 1.31 as second. 4 January signings better with Hayden, Frey, Hodge, and Andersen on 1.91, 1.89, 1.88, and 1.80 respectively, but they didn't have the 14 games under boots to drag them down.
In summary Cook is clearly POTY when looking at PPG over the season. Any other vote is just ridiculous imho.

Cook by a country mile.
The nearest weve had to a leader since Clint Hill, not a foot wrong and his qualities have allowed Jcs to relax and play how we know he can
It has to be Cook.

Nice to see that we have had 3 or 4 goox performers that we each think should be POTY. Our man of the year has to go to Marti.

I think the poll can purge everyone else but Cook and JCS.
