For us these days the reported sum is a chunky fee. if Hayden doesn’t come, guessing Varane slots into the first team and that’s a lot of expectation on a player who has only started a tiny number of matches. We must really see something in him.
Re Lakarche, must now assume club looking to off-load Cannon. Dunne seems to be first choice now and Marti says Santos signed as right back - and a USA international is not going to want to be third choice.

Dunne seems to be first choice now and Marti says Santos signed as right back - and a USA international is not going to want to be third choice. first off, wow, i completely forgot about cannon lol. has he featured in any preseason game? good pedigree so we could expect a fee for him. i did think we would have 2 or 3 million to spend this season as we've been very frugal in recent years. even so we've made some really smart and much needed signings thus far but i imagine we're still keeping one eye on the eze situation before we go out and bring in any major names. we need some quality names but i've said it since the start that there's no point wheeling and dealing for players right now when we could be getting a significant sell on fee. would much rather us spend £5m on an AM than bring in a free simply to placate fans insatiable hunger for players lol |

Think it’s more that at 22, if he develops, we should Make a profit. With Hayden, doesn’t matter how he does, we’re unlikely to get money for him. Yes and think it’s a much needed shift from spending big (in wages) on the likes of Johansen, Austin etc. He sounds an exciting prospect. But as discussed above we now have very few senior players and we still need to be competitive in the league this year. Hayden’s win percentage last season was insane. Christian and Marti have credit in the bank to make these big calls. I just hope in our inevitable tricky patch we have enough warhorses to get us thru. Window not closed of course and maybe departures will free funds for an experienced player. |

Always deals and loans to be done end of window where can pick up so decent players but it leaves it late for bedding in.
Apart from striker we have not addressed the attacking threat of the team where I think additions are most needed. For me we need a couple of really good attacking midfielders who can play across the middle or out wide of the park.
Anderson is not the answer for me very good technically but still feels like he’s bit short of what’s needed for championship.

All I'm interested in is whether we have a top boy for holding midfield / enforcing who can actually pass the ball forwards, and is there any sign of a proper 10 on the horizon. Because those are the slots where we're short. And the only way I want to find out is by glancing at the Ninja's latest post. Thank you.

Larkeche to Dundee on a year loan is done then. Given it looks likely JCS and Paal could both be off, you'd assume we've got out eyes on another defender or 2. We could end up very light otherwise.

Both will 100% be sold if I'm correct on both those points. |

if that's to be believed then it's good to see us have a more ruthless approach to players. i like paal but don't want players to be divering about when it comes to a new contract, sign up or be sold. yes players will understandably see us as a stepping stone club but that doesn't give them the right to walk all over us.
