I’m happy to trust club so far. Worried about lack of a creative player and think there may be a last minute exit - JCS or Chair. If Chair, for all his faults we will really miss his energy and contribution. Got a funny feeling Kolli coming good is vital for a decent season.

I've been arguing the pre-season games are a real concern showing lack of attacking threat. Seeing as its a new week want to be a bit more positive: 1: the club are at least making us very solid defensively. As much as the lack of goals has been a long-standing problem, it was all the goals conceded that was arguably killing us even more under Ainsworth. Varane and Field should make a very solid shield in front of two very good centre backs and a goalie who also looks impressive. Added to which Dunne has now looked comfortable against two top class wingers in the friendlies. Varane reportedly very good in the air, so having him, Dunne and Field at set-pieces should make us solid. Paal looked decent against Brighton but it sounds like we have potential replacements lined up if needed. Brighton had been scoring for fun pre-season before coming to us but we didn't give that many chances to a team who should be stronger than anything we come up against this season. 2. attacking re-enforcements, being so expensive, were always likely to be loans so therefore near the end of the window. That's worrying for fans who want to be able to say "this is our first 11 for the coming season and I like it." We in truth can't say that. But on another message board its claimed Ipswich want to loan us Al-Hamadi. Probably bollocks, but these kinds of players surely will come available. You can imagine a Premier League club being more willing to trust us with a promising player under the new regime. Adding value to the player with good training probably as important to them as the loan fee. I honestly fear we will be firing more blanks the Alan the first few games - particularly without Chair - but we are developing a decent structure and two attacking players would suddenly make the other players look much better. Fully functioning Stains, fully functioning on a regular basis😉

Got a funny feeling Kolli coming good is vital for a decent season. May need to if that's it on the 10 front..... For me he's more an 8, can cover the Ilias slot. Interesting to see him IC and a proper 10 on the park at the same time. A bit wishful.

Kolli is never a 10. He needs a creative player supporting him. Let’s see him make runs and get chances. I’ve got a feeling he’ll be ok. Looks the part, gets about and is clearly confident.

Josh Bowler on the radar.
I'd like that. Seems to have come on as a player and didn't he score against us last season?

"Magic" probably pushing it. "Upgrade on Smyth" probably nearer the mark.

would certainly be an upgrade on what we have and would fit well into the team and style of play

How much did we sell him for? think 1.5mil Bowler? Believe it or not it was actually double that with a sell on. Great bit of business considering he'd only played 1 first team game. That being said, I'd love this rumour to be true. Always suspected he'd be back at some stage and I think he's a class player at this level. An upgrade on what we have in terms of out and out Wingers.

Or maybe it wasn't having reviewed that article that Awin posted and a few others. 1.5m up front with a further 2.75m in "add ons". Who knows how many of those add ons we got considering he never kicked a ball for Everton.
Still, good bit of business regardless. Even if we only saw 1.5m-2m, it's a good return for a lad we got on a free who had barely reached the first team.
I wonder if he has any regrets. Might have been better staying put with us, with the benefit of hindsight.

Why would he regret? Certainly Everton paid him much more than we could have.

Why would he regret? Certainly Everton paid him much more than we could have. Cos he wasted 4 years of his career in the ressies or on loan. Couple of seasons in our first team and he could have kicked on better.

thats because we don't spend hours mining euro data sets and travelling over to see em on the park. you missed my point. They may well turn out to be finds but who had honestly heard of them before they arrived. We’re all saying great work based on what?? It’s like people are going out of way to praise Nourry before anything has been delivered was similar with Les to start when he stopped Harry spending and all the foreign imports was well done Les bla bla bla January window Nourry:new regime brought in Hayden was good loan Anderson hmmm Wolves kid pointless Frey questions still be answered. He/they have been refreshing but more questions then answers above with those four so I’m at a loss why all these signings of people we have not heard of are saluted by the fans when We know fuckall about them. Only one above which was success was the one we all knew about already. This is correct before we all start choking the chicken Let’s see how they do the good thing is we are Looking all over Europe now for a change rather Than the run of the mill dregs left over Vargas Frabotta Sancho sounds like World Cup team Is Frabotta coming Hope so need a fiery Italian In the side Also noticed how long the threads are now Interesting stuff 🤣

Only one above which was success was the one we all knew about already. Harsh to judge them on a January window at which point were a) still short odds to take the drop and b) still strapped for cash compared to your Southamptons etc and c) January is always a sellers market. It was desperate. Hayden was a success last term but Andersen played an important role too, although no way is he our new 10. And for all his athletic shortcomings, Frey gives defenders more to think about than Dykes ever did. I personally thought Les was an insane appointment at the time and said so. There really is no comparison between then and now, it was the blind leading the blind. Finally, if me or you know about the proposed incomers, it means every other fucker does too, and that means big dosh. Of course I have concerns but compared to when Les and Hoos were involved in football decisions, this feels pretty good.
Still going into a season with donkey Frei an unknown guy who played in the Euros and a kid same as last season. Dykes was going to play in the euros

We still have the basis of last seasons team
Which was a great team for the last 12 matches
Solid keeper defence an midfield
With a new striker need to stop being so negative
Sure we will sign a few more yet
Need some positivity on here

Agreed but the Marti love affair is justified And he is requesting these signing Nourry is just writing the cheques I didn’t actually say you were negative Bill However let’s wait and see before we slag them off No one knows what’s going to happen I’m more worried about playing out the back tbh

Ethan Erhahon is a rumour. 23 years old midfielder from Lincoln. Saw the headline to that but didn't want to accept cookies from another clickbate site. Was it actually saying QPR are interested or was it just some pundit sitting in his pants in his bedsit suggesting him as a signing? Another defensive midfielder but their Players Player and Fans Player of the Year. Claimed to be the best defensive central midfielder in L1. "allegedly". I saw it on LFW, but no source.

Dykes was going to play in the euros Bill, what more do you think could they have done so far, given the restrictions they're under? I think they're doing ok given there's still four weeks to go of the window. Just need a Willock replacement really and it won't have been a bad window IMO.

For me a decent strike force should have been a priority. Has not been addressed basicaly stood still. Celar most praising him and if he doesnt score in first couple of games, crowd will get on his back. Now Sinclair has gone where is the pace in the team up front especially. Cant score,no pace puts pressure on midfield and defence. We have no creativity as Hal has made abundantly clear and even if we did who is going to finish them. So much pressure on one new signing up front, just hope he copes. Also most signings are untried and untested in what most will say is the most competitive league, maybe in the world.

Frabotta apparently signing for WBA today. Seems his agents talked to quite a few clubs on their trip over here. I should think that Christian (and other clubs) would not be happy about their reporting to the media of discussions, but that is what agents do. Oh well, we may get to see him play at Loftus Road on Saturday after all, but more a case of 'Let's just see the prize you could have won'.
