Spot on! Both games we have allowed the opposition to pass around us, and then give it back if we do get a foot in. We lack a player who can control the middle of the park. 
Anderson's needless foul probably influenced the half time hook, but his replacement (Field) had his poorest game for us, so then Marti tried Dykes in midfield...thanks Lyndon!
Positives:
Walsh - see above.
Morrison & Lloyd.
We found out about some of the fringe players.
Smyth's running rewarded with a goal, but we all know about his decision making.
Not Marti's finest hour, every sub made a poor team even weaker. At least when Smyth was on, there was one person running - usually down a blind alley, but still.
Biggest irony, we won a cup game when we really did not deserve to!

One positive from yesterday thought Frey looked sharper and a handful when he managed to turn and run at them.

Impossible to know your first eleven when new players are still arriving through the door and some may still depart. Marti will get us flying, just a question of when which will hopefully be a week or two. One things for sure, we won’t be languishing in the bottom 5 or 6, like we were last season.

You have to be ready when the season starts, not when the window closes.  You make the most of who is available.

I agree with the General that the below par stuff we're seeing is Marti's responsibility. And I'm pretty sure Marti would stand up and say so, that's one of the things I like about him.

Yes we have new players but most of the first team

From last year is still here are they not

Chair’s injured and Willocks fucked off to South Wales. Two key players last season who haven’t been playing in our first two games.
I’d say we’re significantly weaker on paper at the moment, given the new signing are still bedding in.
It’s been far from perfect and Marti’s been straight up enough to say its parly his fault. But I don’t think it’s through lack of focus intensity etc. He turned things around massively last season and is trying to continue on that upward trajectory. This is just one of those bumps in the road along the way.
We’re not going down and I very much doubt we’ll be going up so losing to a team who’s value is probably ten times our own is no biggie. If we lose to the blades it will hurt, but it won’t define our season. As for Cambridge, it wasn’t pretty but we’re through to the next round, how many times have we been able to say that over the years.
It’ll all come good, if anything it’s a wake up call that might work in our favour.
