Surely the loan with obligation to buy is so that it doesn't sit in the three year FFP period until next year. Just like we did with Richards.
In a way that could be good news as surely it makes it less likely that it's dependent on Chair being sold this month. I'm very ready to see two new wingers. I think they're long, long overdue. Imagine those two out wide and Chair in the team too... We haven't fielded an attacking midfield like that for years.

I wonder if we will also try the PL trick of giving longer contracts to our expensive players so you can spread out the cost of the transfer fee in the accounts over several seasons.

Are they available tonight? Doesn’t look like it based on wording at bottom on official. “ Both transfers are subject to receiving international clearance and ratification from the football governing bodies while Saito’s transfer is also subject to receiving a visa” How long does a bloody visa take! Get Saito a dinghy, he’ll be playing Saturday😁

over the moon with these signings, just wow. both are loans but from the wording it's apparent that dembele is an obligation to buy. what an exciting front 4 we have though! Looks like the Japanese lad is out of contract next summer too so maybe a freebie or compo. Great business

Great business One report stated that his club insisted on him signing a new contract before going out on loan. But everything is secret nowadays, so we will only find out at the end of the season, I guess. Perhaps they have, and we have built in an option to purchase....but perhaps not!

I’d imagine they’d have covered themselves with some sort of option, I guess as he’s under 24 there will be a compo package maybe? Really excited by both of these. Think there will be more to come too. Left back definitely but whatever happens it’s a very good window and kudos to the club. Imagine the two new guys are a significant outlay so sensible to cover with a loan first instead of spending big and finding out the hard way

These 2 signings may not work out of course but…. Both young in their careers. So if we develop them properly we should be able to sell on later. Dembele - pedigree, having started out at Celtic and then had a whole season in League 1, playing nearly 50 games in 1 season. Then got all 3 player awards at end of the season. Saito - 50 games over last 2 seasons in Dutch top league for a side that is in mid table. And played at pretty much every Japan age group at national level. Clearly going to be very technical. So, they may not work out but these are exactly the players we should be getting. If they don’t work out, I won’t blame the club as to me these 2 tick all the boxes for players that can take us to next level. Dembele an amazing capture. Saito just a loan I thought Saito was also option to buy…..but more optionality.

No mention of that on the official, whereas it says for Dembele something like "initially for a year". But I have edited by post above as maybe there is something behind the scenes we don't know about.

Was very good yesterday and his first good game for us IMO. Unlucky not to score at least once.

I have faith in this lad - more effective than Dembele in a few recent games now. Think he will prove a decent player

He turned up and kept going. If he keeps that up he will be ok.
Just needs add putting ball in to his armoury

Best game so far but think his strength will find him struggling in this league.

Can’t knock his effort he keeps going but as soon as it becomes physical he’s knocked off the ball and for all his effort how often does he put the ball in.

One of the few I will defend. He battles and went back a lot to help Paal out which is more than Dembele or Andersen did the other side. I can forgive a player who has a bad game but tries. There are others out there who just don’t seem bothered. And that’s what boils my piss…

Saito could be a big player for us. He’s skinned his oppo a few times in the last couple of games, albeit not the strongest opponents. If only the pull back could be capitalised on, instead of our player firing over the fucking bar time and time again. It was the danish puff pastry on Saturday and happened again last night, Field the culprit I think.

I’d rather he shot than Field for example. Even if Field is in a better position

He’s defo finding his feet and adapting to the league. Wins a lot in the air for his height. Liking the look of him and thought was great at LWB yesterday.
