No Chair, Andersen (tho sounds like he won't be long) or Marsden (waiting for work permit). Presume Coleback suspended or suspensions take a game or two to kick in?

Back five picks itself then I would go: Bonner Field Smyth Dembele Saito Celar I know he fucked up at Sheffield but I'd persist with Varane ahead of EDB. Unless Madsen gets visa clearance in time. As for strikers, you never know, he may opt to play two, considering the injury and suspension problems in midfield. In which case something like:
Nardi
Dunne Cook JCS Paal
Dembele Field Varane Saito
Celar Frey/Dykes |

Only way Varane is gonna get used to the league is by playing. More talented than EDB in my opinion so I'd stick with him in what SHOULD be an easier test for him.

pitch looks great, all that hard work on it last season is paying off.
checked out the guys profile though and it gave me a bit of a chuckle. EVERY groundsman that i've ever met is so passionately obsessed with their pitch. bet he hated the team doing that open training session during the week 🤣

I just want to see Dembele and Saito on the field the full 90. I seriously have not been this excited since the early 90s under don howe and after, Gerry. An all new midfield of Verane and madsen.wingers like dembele and siato. Cook and jcs in defense. Cannot wait to be at church tomorrow. |

Be interesting to see stats on whether there are fewer goals scored in early kicks offs. Maybe more a reflection of my own state but we always look half asleep and a bit lethargic in these encounters. No good for a match where you want to be on the front foot and taking three points.
