Not sure what team was put out but we just lost 1-0 to Wycombe in a behind closed doors friendly. Chair and Fox both played.

Can't shake the feeling that something just isn't right. another friendly, another defeat. As said previously, I don't like his preferred formation with this seasons staff. I also think there's a massive attitude problem, I want to see the sweat drip from every pore (white stripes ref).

I wouldn't place too great an emphasis on a friendly tbh.

I wouldn't place too great an emphasis on a friendly tbh. Always respect your opinions Croydon but I watched the friendlies and I said at the time I didn't like how we had lost all intensity and desire, and I feared this would carry into the season. Lots of posters batted it aside saying exactly what you just have, but I think it set the tone. Winning, motivated teams put Wycombe to the sword. Obvs none of us saw this one, but what's the betting we just couldn't be arsed?

I wouldn't place too great an emphasis on a friendly tbh. I'd normally say the same as that, but when you're seeing a very strong side against a side from a lower league and still losing and not scoring on the back of some really poor league form the alarm bells do ring.

I wouldn't place too great an emphasis on a friendly tbh. Would normally agree. Except for the fact that the pre season friendlies highlighted our shortcomings pretty accurately, people were concerned about how shite we looked back then. And in key areas things haven't improved. So yeah, loosing to WW with plenty of first team involved does raise a few concerns.

I wouldn't place too great an emphasis on a friendly tbh. Neither would I usually, friendly results pre season mean bugger all. This one's in the middle of what's become a pretty dire one, so for me a win might've boosted some confidence. Against Wycombe too 🤦

For a bit of perspective, Wycombe have put a decent little team together this season and have been on an impressive run lately. Yes, ideally we should be beating them but they are no pushovers. Could easily be back in Champ next season.

QPR'S Squad got valuable match minutes under their belt in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Wycombe Wanderers at the club’s Heston training ground on Thursday afternoon. With no fixture this weekend owing to the international break, head coach Martí Cifuentes used the opportunity to give plenty of his players game time against the Chairboys. Encouragingly for Rangers, Ilias Chair came through 60 minutes while Morgan Fox played the full game as the pair overcame injuries which have limited their involvement so far this season. Chair made his first outing of the season as a late substitute against Hull nine days’ ago while Fox’s first appearance followed at Derby on Saturday. The match against Wycombe finished 1-0 to the visitors with Fred Onyedinma scoring the only goal of the game after 16 minutes. Rangers started the game brightly with Daniel Bennie seeing his early effort fly narrowly over the bar following good work from Kader Dembélé on the right. Dembélé was at his creative best again in the eighth minute, picking out Fox with a great ball to the far post, and the defender was unlucky to see his header hit the crossbar. Sixty seconds later, again Dembéle was the architect, this time playing a perfectly-weighted ball behind the Wycombe backline for Alfie Lloyd to latch onto. The R’s striker did well to round visiting keeper Shamal George but was unable to convert from a tight angle. Joe Walsh pulled off a fine save in the tenth minute but could do nothing to stop Onyedinma scoring the opening goal of the game just after the quarter-hour mark. Rangers responded well, with Lloyd forcing another excellent save out of George after Dembélé had once more unlocked the Wycombe backline. As the game drew on, Wycombe grew more into the match, and Walsh had to be at his best to stop the Chairboys grabbing a second, diving full stretch to his left. Shortly before half-time, Sam Field almost levelled matters but saw his fierce drive from 15 yards brilliantly tipped onto the bar by George. Ten minutes after the restart, Kieran Morgan’s powerful low drive was well gathered by George after good work by Hevertton Santos down the right. Wycombe enjoyed good periods of possession during the second half and almost finished off an excellent move with a diving header from eight yards, while Elijah Dixon-Bonner and Jimmy Dunne went close late on for the R’s. All in all, it was a useful workout for Rangers prior to the blank weekend before preparations continue for the arrival of Portsmouth to MATRADE Loftus Road on 19th October. QPR: Walsh; Santos, Cook (Dunne, 46), Fox, Ashby (Friel, 80); Field (Dixon-Bonner, 46), Morgan (Madsen, 61); Dembélé (Andersen, 61), Chair (Saito, 61), Bennie (Shann, 81); Lloyd (Frey, 61).

We need to win a game , any game now. The rot is setting in and soon be Xmas. And u don’t want to be in the bottom 6 come January

Game where we would have gone through the motions and just kept the legs ticking over during break. We go through the motions in the championship. That's a big part of the problem, every week someone just can't be arsed to do their bit of covering, their bit of getting back, their bit of hard graft. Paal's been guilty, so has Madsen, so has Andersen and the list just goes on. Plus, it was when we were 'going through the motions' pre season that it became very apparent that we were poor in key areas. When the time came to step up, we didn't. Or couldn't.

We lost to Wycombe in a nothing game 🤷🏽♂️ do I think if we had won that would have gone on great run after break? No. equally don’t think we will be any worse against Portsmouth. I have be honest and say few fans have wet themselves a bit early this season and think a few would generally pull the trigger if they could. It’s been poor but my god Coventry most season are around relegation zone in December and play offs come may. Two wins and you sniffing playoffs again there is nothing in the league this early. Marti first manager I’ve had any faith in since warbs. Hold your nerve he will sort it out.

Talking of Coventry. Did anyone else read Coventry looking to bring in an experienced assistant for Mark Robin’s. Name in the frame, none other than Chris Ramsey

Normally agree with your posts more than almost any other poster but the comment was clearly referring to games since last season so pre-season friendlies and competitive games this season. Must cover about 17/20 games. Everyone agreed (I think) Marti was brilliant last season
