Well, he did reasonably OK at Derby, keeping them up in his first season and although relegated in his second season, only after massive points deductions (21?).
Did poorly in the USA and then at Brum, but praps has been learning off the job meantime. Obviously had something to persuade Plymouth… although it may simply be ‘Big Name’ syndrome…

Win percent says 28.2 for Derby, or an average of about 1.1 ppg. I would call that just about scraping through, but maybe that's just semantics.🤷♂️

And he did show loyalty to them when they were in all sorts of financial troubles and might have walked.

Vincent Kompany is leaving Burnley to take over at Bayern Munich. Very odd appointment, that. Relegated from the Premier League, gets the top job in German football.

kompany's biggest failing at burnley was his inability to adapt and mix up his style. all well and good when it's working out.
that's what bayern see in him though, he plays good football, was well liked by his players and has the stature to be immediately respected.

Yea huge downfall of his IMO. Whilst there's something to be said about having a style & sticking with it, when it becomes crystal clear the players at your disposal are not good enough to do so (ie Burnley this season gifting copious goals away trying to play like Pep's City) and you simply refuse to change and continue to lose week in weke out it is borderline stupid. If he had been a touch more pragmatic this season who knows Burnley might have survived. That said, I don't see the Bayern move as being as ludicrous as some, on the basis at Bayern he will have the players to play that way & I think he could do well tbf. Plus it is a good time to take them over surely as he can't do much worse than them this year (ie trophyless!).

According to a Mackem on a joint site that I am on, they seem to think personal terms agreed and jsut down to the clubs to finalise a fee.
