Lumley kicking was woeful all day. That side of his game needs serious attention He needs a few matches on the bench now.

We are having a lot of possession(Maybe overdoing the passing game a bit?), but clearly lacks penetration in the final third. BOS is working hard to deliver dangerous crosses, but Hugill is heavily marked and a bit slow to react. IMO, it is time for Wells and Pugh/Chair.. Not saying Hugill should be substituted, but he needs support. All of which was predicted. Face it: Hugill is barely quicker, has a lower ratio and on the evidence I've seen is no better at holding it up than the man deemed surplus to requirements. Who scored again today. We started this season without a 9, that was the manager's choice, and it means we will depend on AMF goals this season.

Would stick Lumley for now but he was sloppy towards end of last season and never inspired great confidence today.
Just needs put foot through ball when under pressure but he sky’s it like green.
Disappointing day overall. Bossed first half but came in losing and less said about the second the better

Ok, he should maybe get another chance, but when it comes to penalties, footwork and how to deal with crosses, he is not up to it all I have to say. Not saying he is a poor goalie, but he need, like you suggest - a reminder..

But regarding Smith, he wanted to play every match something Warburton quite understandingly refused give him any assurances of. I`m not saying Hugill has impressed me so far but it far too early to write him off...Mlakar also.

We really missed Scowen today. Can't have that mate. If anything we struggled by playing both Amos and Smith. Both like to sit deep. Needed one of Pugh or Chair in from the start in my opinion.

The timing of the second goal was really bad. We'd just made subs, it was a gift and it was totally against the run of play.

But we do need to be a bit smarter. That 2nd goal was a disgrace!

Still early days. Given the complete overhaul of the squad we’ve had it is going to take time to gel. We will learn from days like today and improve on the back of that. Onwards and upwards.

We look really Sharpe and smart until we get to opposition box then we seem to take the extra touch or slow game down so opposition recover and get back in position.
Look Man City’s first goal today goes to KDB and he whips it in first time. Yes I know we’re not and never will be Man City but we dilly dally edge of box when we could deliver it early and get behind teams
We’re playing football infront of teams instead of behind them
Still plenty of positives today so it’s not all downbeat and fact we can identify areas to improve is positive too. Hard work needed on training ground but it will come good

Second goal was a shocker Tarbs, I agree. Three errors 1/ stupid throw into box when under pressure. 2/ Barbet leaves it 3/ Lumley makes total hash Think ultimately blame lies with Lumley but was total mess between three of them. Who was the throw actually for?? Barbet is good but he had mare second half

Think Wells needs to be our main point of attack with Hugill being slung on when the defenders get tired. Was Lumley that bad today?

73, problem today was we were out of the game before we got some subs on. Unfortunate cos Warburton saw we needed to switch things up, but whilst he was making a change we lost a 2nd.
Bad day at the office, just hope we're learning. Can't make a habit of controlling games and not winning!

I get the manager wants us to play out from the back, but you've gotta know when it's time to just put your foot through it!

Just seen the interview from Warbs after the game, good to see there are no excuses and hes frustrated with going there, dominating but not taking our chances, and gifting them 2 goals. We move on. I'm pretty sure we'll see a response from the players in what is another very tough game on Wednesday against Swansea.

Only gripe I would have about yesterday is were not creating loads of chances. Think yesterday there were two Hugill who put over and BOS who put it wide into crowd.
We we start creating decent chances and plentiful will be a good season

Just been watching the full match replay of this. Is it just me or was the ref somewhat biased towards City. Example: one of their players kicks the ball way after whistle, and it ends in a chat. Rangel later first half and it´s a yellow card. Also think he allows them to be more physical in challenges than our lot, which ultimately ended in BOS reacting getting himself a yellow, but possibly deserved a red card tbf. Think it must be frustrating for our players to take that kind of double standards, so I hope we get it the other way around tonight.

Just see 2nd goal on Sky did the ball not come off barbets??? head if so why do Lumley not catch it or am I imaging it??? As I said elsewhere, I believe the plan was for Rangel to throw to Barbet for him to back head it to Lumley for a catch which meant Lumley didn't have his feet positioned for a clearance as he was expecting it in to his hands. Most of the blame lays with either a bad Rangel throw or a Barbet cock up IMO.

Problem for Lumley was that Barbet didn´t touch it, so he couldn´t just catch it as expected, and had to hurry his clearance. Not his fault alone.

I thought barbet maybe did get head to it which would make it Lumley cock up but then you see how Lumley reacts towards Rangel after it makes me think perhaps not Aslong as we have learnt a lesson

You know, the kind of homer we never see at HQ.
