Great he's doing well, beautiful, I didn't expect it and neither did WHU fans who also seem to be stunned and amazed. Could simply be that he's a confidence player in which case goals are like buses, one comes along and suddenly they're queuing up for you. I'm still not convinced we have any striker cover worth a light and that - in reply to post one - was always one of my main concerns when big Smith went. I hope you don't think this was a jab at you Hal? I, like you, was very against Smith leaving and didn't think Hugill would be an adequate replacement. It's more me saying well, maybe we dont need Smith that badly after all. No worries mate. Amusing Hugill thread on KUMB (Hammers forum) here, they're happy too...

West Ham have got fuck all up front other than Haller. It is a major possibility that if he hits 10+ goals by Christmas that he'll get recalled (IMO)

Do you know for sure that they are able to recall him in January?

Also heard some eye watering figures for what we might actually be paying to loan him (although I take that with a pinch of salt).

A WHU MB was saying that we are paying 40% of his wages.

I read somewhere WHU were paying half his wages which will still be an eye-watering sum for us to cover. So far, worth it.

A WHU MB was saying that we are paying 40% of his wages. Probably about right I'd imagine. If he's on 40k a week that would be 16k and bang in line with our other top earners. Someone very close to the club (who's word I wouldnt particularly trust) told me we were paying 28k a week for him.

They're deffo paying a sizeable chunk of his wages. The Totti of Teeside could have sat on his arse for big wage back at WHU, credit to him for showing willing. For their part they're hoping he'll up his market value this term with aim of selling him on to one of the many championship wannabees who are prepared to gamble (like Villa etc did). That can go both ways as we all know, but there are plenty prepared to take the risk.

Surprised about Moyes if he was involved in something hooky. Always seemed like a pretty honest bloke to me!

Remember reading it from few hammers fans on twitter when we were linked with Hughill. They all seemed to be discussing it

Can't think of any other sphere in the mainstream where so many people can get away with so much dodgy shit as football. Apart from politics, of course...

They're much more interested in moving him on and recouping something than actually starting him, its in everyones interest that he does the business here. This is his level.
Everyone is max loved up on him right now but lets not forget this season is make or break for him. Going overboard will just stack up pressure when he hits a dry spell, he's a confidence player so lets just keep it real. He's doing OK.

Played together more often that partnership with Wells could get into the 30's this season.

'He's brilliant' - How Les Ferdinand is helping Jordan Hugill to thrive at QPRPUBLISHED: 06:30 07 October 2019 Dan Bennett (Kilburn Times) Queens Park Rangers forward Jordan Hugill on his hopes for the future and how Les Ferdinand is helping him. QPR striker Jordan Hugill has revealed that the club's director of football and Premier League legend Les Ferdinand has played a key role in helping him to settle in to his new surroundings. The 27-year-old came off the bench to score his sixth goal of the season in the 4-2 win over Blackburn Rovers on Saturday after arriving on loan from West Ham United in the summer. And Hugill revealed that the advice and support he is receiving from Ferdinand is helping him to improve as a player. "Les is brilliant. Sometimes after games I'll go and see him and say 'what can I do better?' because he's someone that I can learn off," he said after the win over Blackburn. "When it's someone as good as he was you can only learn from people like that so it's brilliant to have someone like that at the club. "He's mentioned to me before that he wanted to sign me a long time ago so it's pleasing to hear that these people have watched you for a long time and respect you that much that they want you in that team to try and do well for them. "You look at what he has (done) and it's just brilliant to have someone like that at the club who has scored as many goals as he has, played in as many games and has been at the highest level. "I've seen him (play) a few times, especially when he was at Newcastle with Alan Shearer. I always ask him about Alan Shearer because he was one of my favourite players. "It's been brilliant, the lads have been brilliant and all the staff and everyone at the club has been brilliant with me so I've settled in relatively easy." This season marks his second Championship loan spell in two seasons, having spent the last campaign at Middlesbrough where he scored seven goals in all competitions. Hugill admits that being just one off his total from the last campaign at such an early stage of the season has given him huge confidence and is targeting both his and QPR's return to the Premier League. He added: "I think it's brilliant confidence for me personally. Seven goals all season last season and now I'm one off that record. It's one of them things where I can only improve on what I did last year so if I can improve on that this early then who knows where I can go. I believe personally that I'm a Premier League player. For me now my focus is to get QPR in the Premier League. I'm sure they're (West Ham) keeping tabs and doing what they do but for me personally I'm just focused on what I'm doing here. It's not about me getting into the Premier League by myself, I want to get this club into the Premier League. For me personally that's my aim, I don't care what goes on individually, this is about a team and a good team at their best. To get back on track before the international break was really important." www.kilburntimes.co.uk/sport/football/queens-park-rangers/les-ferdinand-helping-jordan-hugill-thrive-qpr-1-6308875

If the loans get us up they are cheap. I'm sure the budget is under control now........? From memory; this season we should be only £11m in arrears at the end but then £21m drops off our FFP rolling total and our operating losses for this season should be even lower than last seasons. *edit: I tried to find the article referring to the FFP status wrt QPR but couldn't. I did, however, find a detailed financial analysis of QPR in 2018 dated from February this year. financialfootballnews.com/qpr-2018-financial-review-ffp-hits/
