So this could be a thread and debate which goes on and on but for me one of the biggest let downs was winning the league but not giving us a parade
Thought that was really poor by the club and showed how out of touch they were. I know Tango and cash wanted out but how much would it have cost to give the fans a day to celebrate

Three biggest errors: Not giving money to Warnock to strengthen the squad in the summer we went up (money released when it was too late so we got duds like Bothroyd, SWP, Young and Ferdinand); sacking Warnock in January; appointing Hughes. These three seriously fucked us.

Biggest error made by club last decade The first error was the biggest because that's what caused the ensuing rot to set in and fester: Sacking Warnock.

We were eight games without a win and couldn't compete at all. Think mistake was to appoint Hughes who's agents run the club without any control.

The one the preceding summer didn't count as it was literally an 11th hour trolley dash of panic buys, so have never judged Warnock on that as it was totally out of his hands. Also, in general usually the first mistakes are the most damaging as that's what lays the foundations of what follows, when you have an inexperienced and naive Chairman as we did (which he himself admitted to).

These three seriously fucked us. Hard to disagree with. Having said that, a part of me would have liked to have seen the players that got us there, be rewarded with the opportunity to see what they could do. If we were going to flounder about near the bottom all season, would have made more sense to do it within our means.

Appointing that Charlatan Hughes. Forget the decade, that was the worst move in our History.

Biggest mistake from the clubs perspective was not selling to the Mittals when their was an offer on the table towards the end of our promotion season.
Obviously not a mistake from Tango & Cash's perspective. I'm sure they got wind of Fernandes' interest and knew they could get a few more quid out of him than what was on the table from the Mittals. Those boys are shrewd Indian businessmen and wouldn't had offered a penny more than the club was worth.
I often wonder though what might have been had the Mittal's offer been accepted and Amit had been in the driving seat rather than Uncle Tony!

Sacking Mr Warnock we may have gone down but chances are we would have come straight back up given his record.

throwing a shit tonne of money at the club after we won the league for sure. it took us a good 8 seasons to get out of the mess that left us in and still has a lasting effect in regards to our FFP stuff. still, we're getting back to what we're known for in developing players.
i'd much rather us be signing players like BOS, manning and eze, watching them develop into good players and then selling them on than bringing in has beens and mercenaries like before

He was a prize cunt on and off the pitch.

That transfer window before the 11/12 season was probably the thing that killed us. As others said it was a real shame that Warnock didn´t have a proper window, but it was really stupid transfers he did make. And then making Barton captain. Pure lunacy.

That was when we begun the slow death of the club as we know it. When you look back at things they you realise what an absolute clown Fernandes was as a chairman especially in that summer. Whatever happened to the QPR Aeroplane he launched?
