That is unfortunate given Stoke normally have a series of giants at the back. (Does anyone know the collective noun for giants?)

That is unfortunate given Stoke normally have a series of giants at the back. (Does anyone know the collective noun for giants?) A gaggle? A beanstalk? I've just looked it up. Apparently it's percussion. A percussion of giants. A lawn of gnomes. A smuggle of Smiths.

Shame about big Matt, and sorry for the thread hijacking. Think we´ll be okay without him, and if they have a percussion of giants at the back, we are probably better off playing some quick passing around their feet instead, i.e. we actually need a lawn of gnomes to play around them.

Spackman Thought that was a qprdot.org expression? Wash your mouth out! A Spackman originated on the original qpr.org in the late 90s, not the fake org that took over in the Gnome backed coup. There was only one gnome that time, not a lawn of them. Way before LFW, Pete. It actually started when Tracy Stent posted some news about Nigel Spackman a few minutes after someone else had posted exactly the same thing.....

I have noticed it being used a lot on lfw so I just wrongly assumed that.

Just checked, and they do have a post explaining the Spackman concept on the gnome .org as their own. Apparently you shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet

Firstly, what a class finish today.
Considering he has been reduced to cameo roles this year his minutes to goal ratio isn’t to bad at all and imo we don’t play him enough.
Always a threat when he plays and I think he’s massively underrated by a lot of our fans.
Could be our lead striker next season and I’d wager he could score 12-15 goals if we create the chances.

Really like him as a squad member. Definitely offers a threat. What a finish today.

Would definitely score more goals given proper service and fair treatment from referees.

Get Smyth and BOS running off him and he will shine as runners around him would help him and the team succeed.

Is defo unfairly treated by refs
I don’t mind Smith from bench or if chosen cleverly for right game. He’s been more bearable to watch this season as it was not lump it forward like the two before which was truly awful and brain numbing
As plenty say get ball wide and balls into box and he’s different player

Get Smyth and BOS running off him and he will shine as runners around him would help him and the team succeed. I'd include Shodipo in that as he's regularly beats his man and gets good crosses in. BOS does not always succeed at that, yet. Needs to improve that side of his game. We play well in a 4-4-2 IMO. You could have BOS and Mido on the wings with Smith and Smyth up front. Chair and Scowen in MF. Smith would score a lot more goals in that set up with all the quality supply.

Been crying out for Smith and Smyth up top for years. Two times we did it - Cardiff and Weds at home last freaking season - it paid dividends. With width...

General, are you sure you're not mixing it up with Matt Ingram, who we ARE reported to be looking to offload currently.
I can't see anything in the media / newsnow regarding that with Matt Smith.
If not, do you have an actual link to the article?
