To be fair, he hardly had any full games last season. Personally think he is a decent striker but I think we should really be looking at someone who is more of a threat in areas as well as just the air.

Got a decent shot on him but everything is usually geared to him using his bonce.

i think 1mil woud be enough. any money we get from lump and ingram can be used to pay off another year of the ffp fine.

He's only got a year left on his deal for starters. Secondly, Millwall probably haven't got 1m quid. I actually think a 1m quid fee would probably break their existing transfer record. Really doubt they are gonna do that for Matt Smith!

Some people seem to think that with the new gaffer we're suddenly Barcelona.
Take Smith out of the picture and our front line is about as dangerous as a little lie down. Stats are shockingly poor.

Maybe he just doesn’t suit the way warbs wants to play. We should embrace that in my opinion as it at least indicates it might be a bit more entertaining to watch. I like smith but he’s very very limited. You’ve got to assume that if we’re looking to offload we must have at the very least 2 coming in.

If we sell him now, we're gambling on future business which is a dangerous strategy since we have no other out and out striker. Not one. If we find other front men with a better ratio and bring them in, that would be the time to move him on. Unfortunately they cost the kind of money we're not supposed to have.

Take him out of the side and like to know where the goals will come from? Goal scorers do not come cheap and we will be rummaging around the bins trying to find one. I would keep Smith and have runners off him like BOS and Smyth.

It's important we replace Smith if he's going though. Horribly short when it comes to out and out strikers. Also lacking a bit of experience in the attacking 3rd. In fact if Freeman and Luongo are on their way, all our experienced players play at the back. That needs addressing for sure!

Really fear for our club as this sale in particular stinks of a club desperate to off load at all costs and for any figure.

Just bear in mind, aside from Freeman, the players we are looking to shift are in the last year of their contract. If we aren't looking to renew their contracts (or can't afford to offer what it would take to extend them), it makes good business sense to shift them this summer!

Experienced players and in Smith's case justifies a game based on goals.

Signings so far are building from the back though Tarbs, which is always a good sign. With the promise of a couple of PL loans in the offing too. I think we need to show a little patience given the restrictions we're working under. It's still early days too in the window too, and 3 decent signings so far by the looks of it.

Not totally convinced the 2 lads from Scotland are good enough myself mate. But beggars can't be choosers I guess. Agree with you 100% on being patient mate. The club are doing the best they can under very difficult conditions!

Most of our players, whilst they have their moments, are far too inconsistent for my liking. Therefore, it’s to be expected that the team will be all over the shop too.
The effects of a new broom, bringing in those with a high desire to make a success of things, could well be a game changer.
I guess it could easily go tits up, but surely it’s just as likely to provide a pleasant surprise. Time will tell. No point in moaning until late August at least. 😂

Freeman, Luongo and Smith apparently off. Facking hell. Who will there be left to grace the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium? Can't Eze go and everyone else stay?

I'd imagine Eze is on less money than these more senior players. He also has a lot of potential to improve, and is on a longer deal than Luongo and Smith. For these reasons, I can see the logic behind holding onto Eze and trying to develop him. I'm not convinced myself, not sure he's got the attitude or work ethic to make it much higher than this level.......but I guess time will tell. And above all else, I'm not really sure too many clubs will be in for Eze this window given how shite he was 2nd half of last season!

They wouldn't be contemplating letting him go unless a couple are lined up. Biggest worry is who is going to wash the top windows and change the lightbulbs. Can we afford a ladder.

If Smith is worth as little as everyone seems to think we might as well hang onto to him.

As much as I like Matt Smith, If he goes and we get a PL loan like Villa did with Tammy Abraham then I've got no complaints.
Can't understand the panic personally. Freeman aside, it's not as if the names we are offloading are anything special and will go on to amaze at a new club.
Have a bit of faith that Warbs will be able to improve a squad that has been, at best, average.
