still don't get the point of this one, i get that warbs had said it's to provide competition and cover for our 3 attacking midfielders but what's the point? we're not gunna get promoted this season so should be looking towards building for next season. i'm not saying that he's a bad player, far from it, but this signing will only stunt the growth of players like shodipo and dalling for example who are the backup and backup's backup anyway.

The club works with them every day. football can be strange though, some players get lost in the shuffle and only really get a chance to shine when they're on the pitch. plus dalling and shodipo's are the main ones who pop up in our u23 games it seems. obviously if clarke goes on to do well for us i'd be more than happy!

Quite good that we will get to see this exciting young player for a bit though.

I think the point is Clarke is a definite improvement on what we have. If the rumours doing the rounds are correct then it's somewhat of a sweetener for us in anticipation of Eze signing for Spurs at the end of the season. As such, perhaps this one isn't costing us much (if anything at all).

I don't see the problem with getting a player on loan who improves the squad. Our back ups aren't up to much and he gives us more width, something only BOS gives us. Shodipo reminds me of other young players we have had in the past, where fans want them played just because they are young despite them probably not being good enough.

I think its great that the club are actively signing minority players. We should have a few more northern folk in our team. Then we can all chant chips n gravy every week to show them we behind them.

Can't see this being linked to Eze, more likely they've spent £10M on a player who is not going to get regular games (yet) unless he goes on loan.

From Leeds bench to ours 🤔 Hugely underwhelmed so far. Looks a different player to the kid that burst onto the scene at Leeds a few seasons back. Confidence maybe?

Hasn't really had a chance here yet. Given a run of games he might show us something, but it'll be very hard to unseat BOS/Eze/Chair

These comments are similar to the comments that most of the players were receiving at the beginning of the season yet, as it has progressed, the comments are tailing off. Perhaps it takes a bit of time to assimilate into our style of play for non experienced players. It is quite feasible that after another 15 games of Clarke starting that we would be raving about him. Don't forget that we started the season with a very high proportion of fans not convinced that Eze would make it.

Hard to judge a young player in a new club on a few minutes a game. Must have something about him for Spurs to pay so much for him.

Fair point sponge but I saw Gerry Francis' debut and everone knew he was the real deal straight away. What I don't get is why we ship out players to Scotland, Ireland, Wycombe(😁) then bring in someone else's kid. If Shodipo was getting a chance it would negate the argument about settling and getting used to our play wouldn't it?

Shodipo has been lively in his few cameos, not seen anything better from Clarke yet.

Shodipo has been around for a few years now and it's about time he got a make or break chance to be fair to him and the club.
