I used to steward at Stoke City when in was studying up there mate. I used to get a score a game and I tell you what, if a bloke had a knife I wouldn't have got in his way. Stewards ain't trained heavies, they are normally just normal blokes trying to make a few extra quid on the weekend. The reality is if somebody manages to get a weapon into the ground, there is next to nothing stopping them from using it to assualt a player. The FA need to throw the book at that Brum fan to make an example of him. I suspect they will punish the club too. |

Agree clubs will get punished but I’m not sure what else they can do. If people want run on pitch it’s almost impossible to stop them

I’m not sure what else they can do. Increase the deterrent of such actions e.g. by making an example of this numbskull. The precedent will then be set. People would then seriously think twice before taking such action, as opposed to thinking they could get away with it with limited repercussions. |

For what its worth ,i don`t see the problem with giving away players a bit of stick , but in my opinion in this case he has every right not to wear a poppy , he`s not British hes Irish , so youve got to be able to understand why he wouldn`t want to wear one , but hes also making his living over here ,so would showing a bit respect do any harm . I see both sides .

Daves been a good contributor to this new forum. That is a shame if he has gone just like that. Hopefully that is not the case.
I have to say, I didn't see that is worth an investigation from the club but I don't expect to see eye to eye with all posters on every subject. That would be unrealistic.
